The will of God; A bitter pill
Luke 22:41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
God desires the best for mankind, the reason he created comfort that man needs before the creation of man. It is in the desire of God that man lives in a world of no pain, sorrow, bitterness anxiety or death.
Man rejected the will of God and sort for fleshy desire, this has brought unimaginable pain, sorrow, and death to mankind.. Yet, even in our respective sin, God still desires that man be saved back to His righteousness and holiness, this He thus subject Christ his only son to suffering and death for the remission of sin.
This will of God in salvation was not a sweat pill to swallow for Christ, being beaten like a criminal, spitted upon, entangled with all the sins of mankind and being crucified on the cross at calvary. It was a bitter experience, yet, it is to give eternal life to all who can come under his lordship. 1 Timothy 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
As a believer in Christ who has confessed Christ as Lord and saviour, each must subject their will to that of God as He desire to guide all our steps in every areas of our life.
This will of God is like a bitter pill to swallow, because most time it negate our will and desire in life, it negate the desire of our canal body and also our human sense of understanding.
The disciples had to forsake all they have, to follow Christ, they left their business, career, family, friends among others in other to fulfil the will of God in heaven.. It was not an easy decision but it was woth it.. Matthew 19:27 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore? 19:28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
At every junction of decision in our life, God demands we consult him, in marriage, business, career, journey among others.. This is in a bid to keep us intact in his will and blessings so we do not derail into the lust of this world and the trap of the devil.
Whatever the will of God is for your life, no matter how difficult or painful it may look, endure the pain, accept it with thanksgiving in other to receive the expected blessings from God.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
For you to succeed in life and in God, his methods are paramount for you to follow no matter how difficult it may seems.
You may be presented with other choices of life outside God's agenda, it may be flashy and goodly to acquire, but it's end is disastrous.
Failure to work according to God's will for your life will definitely guarantee its respective consequences. The choice is yours, but I advice you choose His will.
