Beautiful Beginning, Bitter End

2 Chronicles  19:2 And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD.

King Jehoshaphat began his reign positively, The Lord was with him because he followed the ways of his father David before him. He did not consult the Baals but sought the God of his father and followed his commands rather than the practices of Israel. The Lord established the kingdom under his control. 

He once led a group of singers to battle as inspired by God which gave Judah victory 

Jehoshaphat is still considered a good and godly king, but his reign ended rather badly. He kept trying to build an alliance with Israel, even though the kings of Israel were obviously wicked. 

Jehoshaphat worshiped the Lord and led his people in seeking the Lord, but the hearts of the people were never fully changed. They reverted to pagan practices. King Jehoshaphat was unable to pass his faith on to his son Jehoram who reigned after him

It is good to start with God, but it is best to end with Him, Jehoshaphat started with God but his alliance with evil Kings gave him a bitter end which reflected upon his son who killed all his brothers at the begining of his reign and made alliance with King Ahab by marrying his daughter. 

 Being a believer requires consciousness of  the spirit checking oneself daily if one has not deviated from the will and direction of God. 

There are many ministers today who started gloriously well with God, but because of peer pressure, they align with the devilish servants, and became entangled with evil works. 

Many believers has lost their place in God because they have made allegiance with the ungodly and have dined and wine with the sinner.. So they become carried away with the works of the flesh. 

How is your journey with God?, are you still in His will or you have gone out of the way?... 

Samson did not know when the Lord left him until he stood up and wish to fight as before... But his powers were already gone. 

The joy of serving God is to end with him, 

Check your life today and see where you are already missing it. Come back to the Lord, renounce every evil association which is capable of destroying your good relationship with God. Else, your life will be like a beautiful begining with a bitter end....
