Prayer

Jeremiah  29:12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

Prayer is an expression of one's most  inner feelings of thanksgiving to God and request for His help. It is a communication link between God an man where we speak and he responds.

The necessity of prayer is to keep us  informed by the Lord concerning our affairs, prayer empower us and redefine our life towards His will, it refreshes our spirit being and keep us in check with God the Father.

As much as we are expected to pray, many lack the understanding of how to pray and this has brought about lack of receiving answer to prayers.

Our prayers should be to God the Father and not to any gods, or formed images, God is the Almighty, the true creator of the universe by whom all men will account to.

Jesus Christ gave the example of how to pray to God the Father... Matthew  6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.  6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

After the death and resurrection, all prayers must be made to God through the name of his only son Jesus Christ. John  14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

The modes of our prayer should be in the following guide for us to have an  effective and prevailing results.

1. We must pray in faith...
Matthew  21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Faith is the only means through which man can receive from God, as God is unseen, man who pray in the spirit must believe that God exist and is able to do more than we can ever ask. Lack of faith hinders prayers from being answered by God.

2. We must pray with thanksgiving

Philippians  4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Thanksgiving is an act of showing appreciation for  what God has done in the past and the expectation of what he will still do. Thanksgiving is an act of gratitude which delights God and propel quick response to our prayers.

3. We must pray with righteous living.
1 John  3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

The prayers of a righteous man avail much unlike the prayer of the unrighteous. God is holy and righteous and those who worship and pray to him must also be righteous.. Our righteousness is not determined by our outward appearance but in our inner deposition. The pray of a wicked man is an abomination before him.

4. We must pray according to His will
1 John  5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
Our prayers becomes withheld when we pray out of purpose in God. In many ways he directs our path, and if our desire from Him will keep us away from His will, he will rather decline our prayers.

5. We must pray without ceasing.
1 Thessalonians  5:17 Pray without ceasing.
We are expected as believers in Christ to put on an attitude of prayer, without relenting, seeking God's face. Our prayer may not be answered instantly, but our consistent praying will keep our spirit alive in Him rather than giving room for doubt.

God still answer prayers, only if we follow the rules by which He can answer.

Prayer keeps your spirit being alive in him.
Don't stop praying even if you are yet to see results.

God bless you...
