The widow's Sacrifice

Mark  12:43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:  12:44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

Jesus christ supervised the treasury during a voluntary giving in the temple. in the process, a widow's offering was noticed by Christ and he  called the attention of his disciples.. Saying.. She gave her all out of her poverty... Making her to be the best giver out of those who contributed.

The materialist will never understand why this widow gave so much. Her thanksgiving for what God has done for her motivated her to give all that she had.

She had to make the sacrifice in order to pour forth her thanksgiving to God. Christianity is of little value to those who are not willing to sacrifice for their faith.

Through sacrifice comes growth. But those who are not willing to make sacrifices for their faith will experience little spiritual growth. Those who come to Jesus must check their motives lest they seek to associate with the people of God in order to see what they can receive.

Christianity is not about receiving from God, but about giving. The Holy spirit had the actions of this poor widow recorded in scripture in order to give an example to all those who would come to Jesus

It is not about how much you give but how heavy it is.... If Your faith could be like the seed of mustard and has weight.... Then God will be moved.

The widow's mite is heavier than the shekels of many during the contribution, such also is the services of many in the house of God.

The time you  spend in His presence is not as important as the time you are connected with him in his presence.

The number of years you spent in serving God is not as important as the number of years you served him in faith and in truth.

Most of our sacrifices that we thought would move God on his throne are actually abomination before him

Most of our services before God that we thought He would consider to bless us are actually rejected services in His presence.

Jeremiah  17:10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
God is not moved by your outward show of service, sacrifice or devotion, he looks at the motives, the intent of your heart through which you brought them.

Take a look at your life since you have been saved, check through if your journey with God has not been a waste.

God is not moved by the confession of your mouth, or the outward display of godliness, but by the intent of your heart and the motives of your mind.

Make amends today so you won't regret serving God in vain.

God bless you.
