No one knows the Hour

Matthew  24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Many years back, some self acclaimed prophets and prophetess claimed to have known the day and the hour Christ will return, and when the rapture will take place. many fell for their false prophecy,  sold their belongings, gave to the poor, many began to live a holy life that they have never lived before, many began to sleep in the temple of worship, a place they never attend for months, just for Christ to meet them prepared. 

Disappointing as it is, Christ didn't come,  it was an affirmation to the words of Christ that no one knows the hour or day. 

Christ, during his teachings on earth speaks of the future events that will occur in latter days, but in respect to the time he will return, no one knows, both the day or the hour of his appearing, not the angels, not even himself, but God the Father.  

Despite the fact that no one knows the actual day, we are told to be at  alert and stay awake.  The parable of the Ten Virgins is a great example of this.  In Matthew 25:1-13, Jesus was telling believers that they must stay alert because the Son of Man comes at an hour when no man expects it

God did not reveal the time of Christ appearing to anyone because He knows human nature fully well.  He knows that if we knew when Christ would return, we would behave differently and then expect to “get right with God” just prior to His return.  This knowledge of this date would breed lazy, slothful believers who would tend to be lazy servants. Many will become lawless and commit several sins just to wait for the  some days to his appearing and then repent 

  This would also delay those who are not yet saved to wait until that day to finally come to faith in Christ.

Our inability to know the hour and the day of His coming should be challenge for us to keep living righteously and godly daily according to the will of God in Christ Jesus 

We should be careful of the devices of the devil which may sway us away from the path of righteousness and sink us into the pit of sin. 

We should not be moved by the teachings of the false Christs and prophets that will flood the world in the end of days. Their mission is to deceive many into hell. Matthew  24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Stay on guard, be at alert, Christ second coming is at hand, let him find you faithful and watching. 

Do not be like the foolish virgin who could not meet the bride. 

Blessed are those who the son of man shall meet still watching.
