Light of a Lamp
Luke 8:16 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.
The purpose and nature of the lamp is to produce light for all who are in its presence. Believers in this world are the lamp that should shine in the in the darkness of this world.
The light on the lamp is the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ which provides the light of life to all the world. The gospel is His life and teaching for our living, His death for the sins of the world and His resurrection for our hope.
As a believer carrying the light of Christ would not hide from the darkness of this world, you are expected to shine the light wherever you find yourself, illuminating the darkness around you.
His light should reflect righteousness and holiness, living godly among men, showcasing the peace and love of God the father through Christ Jesus the son.
But sadly today, many believers who ought to shine the light of the Gospel of Christ has hidden themselves in the darkness of this world through silence and fear.
Many find it difficult to preach to others, even in the little way they can through their character with fellow men. The character of Christ has been lost and they gradually decline to become yoked with the darkness their light should have illuminate.
Some have their light gone off, they only appear to be godly, but the intent of their heart is evil everyday, they only showcase their outward forms of godliness but their heart is far away from the God they claim to serve.
Do you still have the light of Christ's righteousness in you that is able to illuminate the evil in this world?
The five unwise virgins got it late before they Could realise they are burning down instead of burning up, and also there is no oil to keep them burning... But today, you have the word of God, and the holy spirit to keep you burning for God, but are you not hiding away from where you ought to stand and shine the light of God?
You have been endowed with all manners of spiritual gift which is able to launch you into the ministry, but fear of the unknown and what people will say is keeping you away from the very purpose of your living.
Remember the Lord said... In Luke 9:26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.
Preach the gospel of Christ anywhere you find yourself in any godly way you can.
