Reasonable Service
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
In view of the fact that God's grace was poured out for our salvation, our natural response is to obediently comply with the directions of the one who has offered the grace.
Though we are called to service as believers, but a spiritually minded individual who has come to know and appreciate God's grace must present their whole body as a living sacrifice.
The leviticus law called for total consumption of the burnt offering for sin upon the altar of sacrifice, so also must believers give their lives totally to God.
Our only reasonable service is the giving of our bodies as an acceptable living sacrifice unto God.
Our reasonable service is not in engaging in several religious activities of going to places of worship, becoming a worker in the house of God, or the paying of tithes and offering or engaging in charity works. but in us being a living sacrifice unto God. If our life becomes unacceptable before God, then all of our religious activities becomes abomination before him.
Our life can be acceptable as a living sacrifice unto God if we are not conformed to the World of sin, when our affections is not focused on the natural, but spiritual, when our desires is not locked up with the pleasures of this world
A sacrificed life unto God has no desire or will of his own, the mind and will of a sacrificed life is centred on God,
It is an act of burning all works of the flesh, lust of the world and pride of life on the altar of God's refining fire.
Believers are therefore encouraged to be transformed by the renewing of thier mind in other to prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Your service in the house of God is not acceptable or reasonable if your life is not inline with God's will.
God demands that your life conform to his will first, before your religious act of service can be acceptable before him.
Check your life today, is your life a living sacrifice to God?, is it acceptable before him?, if no, humble yourself under the grace of God and be transformed by the righteousness of God made available in Christ Jesus.
Your life is more important to God than your religious activities. Your life becoming a living sacrifice unto God is the only reasonable service before him.
