The culture of His kingdom
Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Culture is the idea, customs, and social behaviour of a particular people or society, it is the way of life and codes of conduct of some certain set of people which makes them distinct to another.
The kingdom of God in Jesus Christ is a distinct kingdom, different from all other kingdoms of this world.
It was first established in the garden of Eden, full of peace, joy, happiness without death, but its code of conduct was bridged and the first occupant were cast out of the kingdom.
But in his mercy and grace, the new kingdom became established, an open invitation is given to anyone who so wish to become a citizen of this kingdom of eternity of peace,
No one can become a citizen without accepting Christ as Lord and personal saviour, he is the deciding factor to the approval of anyone's citizenship in the kingdom..
In this Kingdom, the culture must be understood, it must be learned and practiced before being fully accepted into the kingdom.
1. The culture of righteousness and holiness
1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
The first culture of this kingdom is righteousness, every citizen is expected to be righteous, in all areas of life, either in speech, Character and thoughts.. This is the identifier which distinctly
distinguish the citizen of His kingdom from all people of this world.
2. The culture of love.
1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
the primary motive and direction for life in the kingdom of God is love, without love, no one can live a life pleasing to God who is the king of the kingdom.... Firstly, loving God with the whole of our heart, soul and spirit, secondly, loving our neighbours as ourselves... God is love so all citizens must have the culture of love.
3. The culture of faith
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Faith is the currency in which commodities are purchased in this kingdom, without faith, there is no way you can please the king of this kingdom. Living in wait for the successful transition from the kingdom of this world into His kingdom, faith is essential in other to scale through.
4. The culture of denying self.
Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Whoever that will become a citizen of this kingdom must deny self and crucify the flesh, such will not live according to the pattern of this world, in dressing, communication, in acquiring wealth, in enjoying the pleasures of this world, and in your relationship with the world.
Whoever is yet to deny self is automatically disqualified from this kingdom.
As someone aspiring to become a citizen of this kingdom, check yourself if you are living according to the culture of this kingdom, else you will become an alien in the city of God. But the fact remains, no alien shall have place in this kingdom.
Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
Live a life that conforms to the pattern and culture of the kingdom of God, you may deceive yourself here on earth, you can smuggle yourself into any nation of this earth, but in the kingdom of God, it is never possible.
Be addicted to the culture of the kingdom now before you find yourself becoming an alien who will be cast out at the gate on the last day.
Learn, be addicted and conform to the ethics of the kingdom by accepting the lordship of Christ Jesus, adhering to his commands and rules in all areas of life.
The culture of His kingdom must differentiate you from the world.
