False Assurance

Genesis  3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:  3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

An assurance is a positive declaration intended to give confidence to someone in other to boost their courage over something.

Satan came to man disguising in the body of a serpent to deceive and robb man off God's blessings in the garden of Eden.

Contrary to the commands of God to Adam of never to eat of the Fruit from the tree of good and evil, of which the consequence if they eat is death, the serpent deceived and gave a false assurance that they will not surely die, but their eyes wil be opened. Genesis  3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:  3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

The assurance of life and exposure to knowledge after enjoying the pleasure of the fruit is too convincing to be a lie, coming from someone that has been in the garden long before the existence of man.

Eve yielded to the false assurance, she did eat and gave also to her husband, and the eyes of  both of them became opened, death came upon man and they realised it was all of a false assurance, the serpent could not reverse the decree of God on man as it also got a share of God's wrath.

The same way devil gives false assurance to people today in other to deceive them to hell through sin that looks innocent.

The lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of life are the tools he uses to tempt people to sin and afterwards makes them perish in their own sin

1 John  2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.  2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

He once gave Christ a false assurance of giving the whole world to him, turning stone to bread, and falling from a high place, justifying his words with the word of God. But Christ was more wiser than him.

Don't be deceived by the false assurance the devil might be bringing before to you, either in marriage, career, business, relationship with fellow human,  he won't come in a full regalia of an evil person, he uses those closer to you or those you trusted.

Whatever the devil promise you will never last, and it will surely have a disastrous end. Always rest in the true assurance of God, it may not have a beautiful begining, but the end will always be beautiful and glorious.

Guide yourself with the words of God which is the light to our path in God's will.

God bless you.
