The wicked prospers

Psalms 37:1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. 37:2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

While growing up I have always assume that any person that does evil will be severely punished immediately according to their evil deeds by God , especially if the evil is against a child of God. My insinuation comes from my conviction that God cares and avenge for those who truly seeks and believe in Him.

But latter on in life It seems my convictions were not actually right, and I began to question God in my solitude why the wicked will continue to prosper and the righteous live in sorrow, why will the guilty be set free and the innocent convicted?

Some patriarchs also ask this same question in their time

Job, during his affliction asked the same questions
Job 21:7 Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, are mighty in power? 21:8 Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes. 21:9 Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of God upon them.

Prophet Jeremiah too was in the same situation of concern why God delays judgment or allow the wicked to prosper.
Jeremiah 12:1 Righteous art thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?

But in all of this, man's way is not God's way,

In many ways the wicked may prospers

1. The wicked may prosper for their own self destruction in a time to come.
Psalms 92:7 When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:

2. God made some to become prosperous in other to test our commitment and contentment with Him,
It is in God's will to affirm our love and confession of faith and trust to him, he makes the wicked prosperous to see if we will not walk in the ways of the sinners because of temporary difficulties.

3. The devil will allow many to live a comfortable life so as not to let them turn to God. "When you have a problem free life, what do you need God for?", such is the case of the wicked.

In times like this, we should not fret, we should continue to depend on God as the wicked will soon receive the reward for their wickedness. Psalms 37:1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. 37:2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

Our confidence in God is that the unrighteous will get what is coming to them. God always gives the correct punishment at exactly the right time. It is out of our hands.

If God is on our side, we have nothing to fear from the wicked, and we can look forward to blessings beyond anything we could ever imagine (Ephesians 3:20)

The wicked may prospers, but it won't last for long, do not envy, or covet their success, prosperity, or evil. Continue steadfastly in God and wait for your salvation.

Psalms 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

God bless you.
