You are a Signpost
2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
A signpost is a sign by the road side that bears information which gives direction to a destination for passersby. It leads a traveller to the right direction.
As believers we are signpost, bearing the information of Christ that guides people towards their journey to the perfect destination of God's kingdom.
God has placed us in this world as a channel through which others will know Christ who is the only way to Him. We are to showcase the love of God evidence in Christ, His will and eternal home He has prepared for us.
The disciples at antioch were best described as the signpost to Christ, they saw in them the full picture and person of Christ, so they are named Christians for their character, behaviour and relationships with fellow humans which points to Christ while Christ points to God.
As a signpost in this world, who are you pointing to?
A signpost is an ambassador of Christ, through whom God is communicated.
Daniel and the the Hebrew represented God in a foreign land, they became a signpost that shows king Nebuchadnezzar and the city of Babylon the only true God. (Daniel 1,23)
Apostle Peter, one of Christ's favourite disciple who was first ashame to represent Him during the first trial came out boldly as a signpost giving out information about Christ that leads to God. Acts 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: 2:15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;... v33
As a believer today, are you pointing to Christ and the kingdom of God? Is your character and behaviour showing the true direction to God or rather directing people to hell?
If you still struggle with sin secretly and appear to be a Saint to people, there is no way you pointing people towards Christ, you are rather leading people to Hell.
Among your colleagues, there is no evidence of Christ in you, you are equally yoked with unbelievers in speech, character, behaviour, conversation and in impurity yet you call yourself a Christian, I'm sorry you are pointing to the devil and not Christ.
You are a signpost, an ambassador of Christ, are you representing Him well?
Check yourself today and imagine how many souls you have lead to the path of destruction
Have a rethink and humble yourself under the grace of God in forgiveness and a changed heart.
There is reward for everything you do in this world, either good or bad.
In everything you do, always remember you are a sign post.
