Holy Spirit the best Guide
Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
The first dispensation of man was govern by God himself, first in the garden of Eden where He will come at the cool of the evening to checkup on the humans He made.
Even after the fall of man, He never seize to direct instruct and communicate with man from one generation to another by giving timely instructions and judgment as at when due.
The sending of His only begotten Son to die for our sins in a bid to reunite us totally with Him and have a new life on earth is a clear indication that He never leaves us without a guide.
The ministry of the son was short and timely, our work of salvation was perfected and we have a new life in God which separate us from the nature of sin and death.
Consequently at the accession of the son, the Holy spirit, the spirit of God was promised, and came at the day of pentecost to live in us, this was the guide of the early Apostles in all they do. The holy spirit ministers to our spirit and bear the witnesses of God so as to enable us live perfectly for Him.
The Holy Spirit does many works in us and around us: He leads, speaks, fills, reveals, teaches, and helps. He sends, forbids, constrains, convicts, and warns. He also gives life (new birth), intercedes, empowers, sanctifies, and loves. He dwells within, seals (or better, is the seal), gives gifts, and grieves.
Some of the works of the Holy Spirit in the early Church.
1. Reveals the truth.
Acts 5:1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 5:2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet. 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
A project is needed to be done, the church unanimously agreed to sell their properties and bring the total money to the Apostles. But Ananias and Sapphira kept back part of the proceeds in secret.
But the Holy spirit which is the spirit of truth reveals their secret intentions and condemn them immediately.
2. Guides in decision making.
The Apostles needed some godly leaders to serve the widows in the church in Jerusalem. So they got the entire church together and said:
Acts 6:3 ESV Therefore, brothers, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty.
It was at this decision making the Holy spirit directed the church to choose Stephen and many others.. Through this people was the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ increased.
Acts 6:5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch: 6:6 Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them. 6:7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.
3. Direct our paths.
The Holy spirit becomes the greatest compass and map through our journey both in our contemporary life and in the spirit.
The spirit directed Deacon Philip, one of those chosen by the church through the leading of the Holy Spirit in Act 6 to join the chariot of an eunuch from Ethiopia... Acts 8:29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. He preach as directed an the eunuch was saved.
The Holy spirit now becomes the best guide any believer in Christ could have in other to succeed in this world and in God.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.(Romans 8:14) not those who are led by their emotions, not those under the influence of their canal knowledge, but those under the influence of the Holy Spirit.
You can never succeed in life in God's way without giving honour to the loving guidance of the Holy spirit.
In all you do, let the Holy spirit guide you... In career, business, marriage, family, finances, in ministry etc.. You can never be lost in the world.
Only those who gives honour to the leading of the Holy spirit are called the sons of God and are actively recognised by Him.
The Holy spirit is the best guide you can ever have.
