Worthless souls
1 Samuel 2:12 Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the LORD.
Being worthless means having no value, no worth, something that has no importance and very useless. Worthless thing is a description of a wastes and miserable.
The word of the LORD this morning is talking about worthless souls. souls are the spirit of man that can never die, it is the spirit after the death of the mortal body.
Worthless souls are the ones that knew not the lord God, souls that do not reverence God in all they do, they have no relationship with Him. They live their life with no hope of eternity.
Consequentially, they become worthless and useless before God. They have no value in the hand of God.
God created us in other to extend His kingdom, and we are to show forth His glory in the planet earth. But man began to choose a wrong path and have less concern about God after the fall to sin in the garden.
The life of Eli the high priest and his two sons who were also priests, Hophni and Phinehas, is a perfect example to sturdy. Eli did not discipline his two sons, who grew up as wicked men, so that God called them “worthless men.” The results for Eli and for Israel were disastrous.
They were born in the house of God and expose to the laws, commandments and statues of God. They were to continue in the line of office of a priest in the land of Israel, but their life becomes irritating to God that He finds no pleasure in them.
they desecrated the animal sacrifices. Not satisfied with the breast and shoulder, their rightful share as priests, they would take some of the other best portions and the fat, which are to be burned before the LORD. Later, their evil ways took a turn for the worse, so that when Israelites were bringing their sacrifices to the sanctuary, El’s two sons would send their servants to meet the people and force them to give whatever portions they wanted, even by force. The two sons were so corrupt and greedy that some of the people stopped bringing their sacrifices. This was a blatant desecration of the ceremonial laws (see Lev 7:22-25).
And finally they committed sexual immorality with the women who served at the entrance of the tabernacle, these are what made them to be worthless before God and their end was death and damnation.
Are you not in the same category today?
Anyone who fail to reverence God as the only true God is one of the worthless souls God is taking about.
Anyone who knows the truth but work against the truth and chooses lie instead is a worthless soul.
You claimed to be God's child and bear name with Christ, yet your whole life keeps sinking sin, you deliberately sin without having a sense of remorse, you are worthless before God.
You act wickedly to fellow humans, you believe no one can challenge you, you keep wallowing in immoralities. you are worthless before God.
People see you as a Saint, a daughter of zion, a glory to behold, yet your bed has been defiled and have no repentant heart, you are worthless before God.
Dear minister of Pockets and prosperity who are called ministers of God. All you desire is to enrich your life with the pleasures of this world rather than enriching the kingdom, you are worthless before God.
What profit are you to God?, what usefulness are you to Him if you still continue in sin?
God has invested so much in you with spiritual gifts and resources for you to work for Him, but you choose not, you are a worthless soul
This is what will be your end if you fail to repent
Matthew 25:26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: 25:27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.... 25:30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
If you fail to repent, Hell is your end.
What shall it profit a man, when he gain the whole world and looses his soul.
Don't be worthless before God,, make yourself useful and gain a home with Him.
Repent now, tomorrow may be too late.
