Be mindful of who u rely on

Jeremiah  17:5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

At some point in life as humans we rely on something for survival, our hope is founded by those whom we trust and believe could save us from one problem or the other. But the question is, who do you ultimately rely on? Yourself? Your family? Your Church? Your government? Your bank account? Your friends? Or do you rely on God?

Considering the scenario that happens between King Saul, Goliahat and Little boy David in  1Samuel chapter 17

King Saul was greatly afraid after Goliahat pulled a challenge... 1 Samuel  17:10 And the Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.  17:11 When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid.

Despite all the military artilleries of Israel, despite the knowledge and understanding of war. All they trusted and rely on disappointed them.

But here comes David, a little boy who had no knowledge of war, who had no military weapon to fight, who has not even come of age to go to war... Yet trusted in the one true God. 1 Samuel  17:37 David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.

His total dependant on God gave him victory over Goliahat and gave Israel victory over their enemies.

What do you rely on today?

Do you rely on yourself, just like king nebuchadnezzar, who said... Daniel  4:30 The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?... Remember what happened to him... You trusted in your wisdom, in your talent and in your craftiness.. But do you ever think you can stand the test of time?

Do you rely on your family?
You have put your trust in your family member, you put your trust in your uncles, you have believed they will help you whenever you run to them., just because they promised you heaven and earth. You begin to worship them just to receive crumbs that may fall from their table... But ever since you have relied on them, how well are they living up to expectations?

Some trusted in thier certificates, degrees gotten, and their job. They find pleasure in it that it will guarantee them financial security and peace of mind, but many who has all were disappointed at the face of death, they wish they could loose all just to have a little more life to live on earth.

Who or what do you rely on today?

Look at what the Lord said about those who relied on man or something other than God the creator of the universe. Jeremiah  17:5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

The more you put your trust in man or anything other than God, the more you become an enemy of God and the more your blessing is withheld.

Those who trusted in medicine for healing were often disappointed after several medications, surgeries and the likes...

But this is the blessing of those who trust and rely on God... Jeremiah  17:7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.  17:8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

When you rely on God, divine blessings shall come upon you,  beyond what the doctors says, He will be your healing, when there is economic recession, you will experience great profits, when people are scared of insecurity of any kind, He will be your shield and buckler..

Who do you rely on today?, to rely on anything less than God is foolishness.

Better to be wise in God and be foolish to man than to be wise with man and be foolish before God.
Be mindful of who you rely on.

God bless you.
