Consequence of being stiff-Neck

Proverbs 29:1 HE WHO, being often reproved, hardens his neck shall suddenly be destroyed–and that without remedy.

To be stiff necked is to be stubborn, obstinate and difficult to lead, a stff necked person often reject instructions and directions from another. They are proud and are wise in their own sight, whatever they do is what they believe to be the right thing.

A stiff necked person is someone who always reject the directions, leading and will of God. Despite God's waning on several occasions, they still do what they desire and thought is right.

A case to sturdy is the life and attitude of the Israelite towards God. Many times  He has used this figure of speech against them.

The Israelite were a chosen generation by God, out of His love and the covenant He made with Abraham, He showed them great love and care, reveal His will to them,  and started guiding them through His will.

they have seen the mighty power of God working wonders for them, saving them from enemies, protecting them and also providing for their needs, yet they often reject the love, will and commandment of God.  Exodus  33:3 Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in the way.

All human beings were created in God’s image (Genesis 1:27) for the purpose of reflecting His glory as we walk in fellowship with Him. But, since Adam’s sin in the Garden, we want to go our own way (Romans 5:12). God sent His Son to pay the penalty for that rebellion, and yet millions continue to reject His offer (2 Corinthians 5:21; John 3:16–18). Those who have the opportunity to know God but serve themselves instead are following the example of Israel in being “stiff-necked” (Hebrews 3:7–12).

Are you not stiff necked today?,

Have you not been rejecting the will of God for your life on several occasions, despite all the messages and messengers He has sent to you, it is still your desires and want you raise above the will of God

You have read and have been preached to on the danger of committing sin, like do not steal, fornicate, commit adultery, murder, envy, backbite etc.. But you insisted and continue in your wicked ways...

There is no sin before God without it's consequences...

1. Total destruction without remedy
Proverbs 29:1 HE WHO, being often reproved, hardens his neck shall suddenly be destroyed–and that without remedy.

Many who rejected the will of God often think they can pray for  mercy at the long run when problem arises... But on the contrary the mercy of God doesn't work for those who are stiff necked against His.

not all the adult generation that left Egypt to the promised land made it through, many of them were destroyed in the wilderness...

Even after getting to the promised land, several times will God send them to captives because of their wicked ways of rejecting His instructions

If you continue to be stiff necked to the will and commandments of God, you will be destroyed suddenly and it will be without remedy except you repent now.

2. Rejection from God.
1 Samuel  16:1 And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.

Saul often go against the will and commandments of God while being king over Israel, severally God has sent His Prophet Samuel to caution and to direct Him towards His will, but being a stiffneked person, He rejected God, and God rejected him.

Have you not been rejected by God also today?, He no longer speak to you as before, you no longer feel His presence with you again,  the smooth relationship you have with before has been broken...

This message is coming to you today, maybe as a final warming... No one who is stiff necked before God made it through in the journey of life...

Don't be like the Israelites who perished in the wilderness for rejecting the laws, guidance, and warnings of God.

Repent today, tomorrow may be too late.

God bless you.
