Enough of casting lots on your Soul

Romans 6:16  Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?

Casting lots is a form of choosing an item out of many options, it is an old practice by the Jews in the old testament to have the best choice out of many options.

On several occasions lot was casted, Joshua casted lot before the land was divided to all the tribes of Israel according to the commands of God (Joshua 18:10)

Lot was casted against Jonah  when all the people in the ship decided  to know on whose account they were troubled on the ship (Jonah 1:7)

Lot was casted when it was time to replace Judas among the disciples,  two Brethren were picked Joseph and matthias,  but the lot fell on matthias and he was numbered among the twelve Apostles. 

Today, people also cast lots on their soul on different occasions, they choose the appropriate person to follow according to the season of their life. 

Sometimes when they want breakthrough in their life, they know how to seek God and do anything that He commands, but suddenly after God answers their prayer, they forget him and choose the path of sin and flesh 

At some other point, when God delays in answering their prayers, when actually God was placing them in the waiting room. They feel God is not powerful enough to save them, so they sort for another option, they seek the help of man and satan. But in all, it will still end in disappointment and regret. 

Sarah casted lot upon her life when it seems God was delaying in giving her a child, she presented her maid to go in with her husband, hoping that same year she will conceived... But that single act brought destruction she could not bargain for.

Are you not also casting lot on your soul?, today you are with God, tomorrow you are with the devil, for how long will you continue to deceive yourself? 

On sabbath day you appear godly, coming before the Lord with a humble heart and confess your sins before Him, but the moment you left, your life received a new turn to sin.  You keep dangling in sin, failing and raining... For how long will you deceive yourself? 

  Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? (Romans 6:16) 

Whoever you choose to follow will be your master either the devil or God. 

Joshua said to the people, "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD" (Joshua  24:15) 

Joshua was able to identify himself with God alone, He had the rest and peace with God who journeyed with them from Egypt down to canaan, who also gave them the lands as an inheritance even unto their next generations. 

Casting lots in the bible is a way to trust God for the best choice, but casting lot on your soul now is the process of not trusting God and not believing He can do what you asked for. 

Enough of casting lots on your soul, choose who you will serve today, have a purpose to be with only one person, either with God in righteousness or with the devil in sin. 

If you die while casting lot on our soul, you will end up in hell, Revelation  3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Repent today, tomorrow may be too late.
