Make positive influence to others
Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men...
Influence is the capacity to have an effect on the character, development, or behaviour of someone or something, or the effect itself. An important aspect of life is influence. Each one of us has influence over someone in this world.
No one ever existed and becomes what they be without being influenced by one thing or the other, either positively or negatively.
Adam and Eve were first influenced by Satan, they were influenced with covetousness which causes a change in the character, development and behaviour of God in them to the nature of sin and death.
They were negatively influenced in the garden and this made man to suffer for it till today. Even after the death and perfected work of salvation of Christ on the cross, man is not totally restored back immediately into the nature of God as it was in the garden.
God expects us to have a positive influence over another so that such person can become positively transformed inline with the purpose and plans of God.
Children are mostly influenced by their parents, their developmental process are often effected by the influence of thier parent in values which is not limited to religious, intellectual and morals.
Joseph was influenced positively by his father through the teaching of of the laws of God, his heart was deeply rooted in the word of God and as he grows up, he never depart from it.
Even when he got to a foreign land where no one could decide for him what he should do or not to do, he never departed from the fear of the Lord. He rejected an offer of sin which could terminate God's purpose for his life. A result of good influence by his father.
The children of Israel were negatively influenced by the nature and character of Egypt, even when they hold the promises of God and experienced the mighty deliverance from slavery, they still carry the mentality of a foreign land.
For they said...Numbers 11:4 And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? 11:5 We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: 11:6 But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.
Influence is a great power that changes the life of the influenced, being influenced negatively will cause great havoc in the life and destiny of such person.
In several areas we can influence others positively
As parents, it is a duty for you to positively influence your children, giving them the good and godly background they needed before they become adults, else the society will influence them negatively.
In the work place, you have the opportunity to influence and encourage others. It is important that, as a Christian, you know what you believe and why. This is the best way to influence others.
The church is influenced by the life of each member. The Bible clearly states that if we are saved and scripturally baptized, we are part of the local church. By living a pure, separated life and loving the Lord Jesus Christ, we bring a positive influence to that body. Having the Spirit in us and being excited about what God is doing in this world is of great benefit and influence.
Every one of us impacts and influences this world for better or for worse. As Christians, we should be working to be positive influences.
Someday we will stand before the Lord Jesus and give an account for how we used our lives. It would be wise to live in such a way that the Lord is able to say, “Well done thou good and faithful servant!”
Make a positive and life changing influence on others, and this world will be a better place to be.
God bless you.
