Wealth in God is not Vanity
Deuteronomy 8:18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
Wealth is a suitable accumulation of resources and possessions of value., it is one of the dimensions of God made available to anyone who can unlock the door of God's treasury
All wealth comes from God, belongs to God, honours God, and is a blessing from God. He made this covenant with the children of Israel and by extension to those who loves and would keep his status.
Occasionally people have subjected acquiring wealth to vanity... Picking their school of thought from the wisdom of King Solomon in the book of Ecclesiastes... Many believers in Christ has subjected their lives to this understanding and thereby robbed themselves off the power of God to make them wealthy.
But, with a kin understanding of king Solomon latter days while writing the book of Ecclesiastes, it will be evident to say he wrote the book in regret and sorrowful heart.
King Solomon was regarded as the wealthiest man in the Bible and perhaps in the world, after he got an open cheque from God... The windows of wealth was open upon him..
But after acquiring this wealth, his heart was turned against the God of His father and followed strange gods of his wives. It was in this state dilemma he lamented not having a wise successor to take over all he had acquire.
Wealth is from God, and must be maintained in God, turning away from God who is the source of wealth makes it become vanity.
God gave and still give wealth to show forth His glory and to help others in need, but many has misused this and turned their heart away from God the giver. They have instituted their power and greatness in the wealth given to them.
Some people prayed for wealth and were not given, not because their prayers cannot be answered but because some have disappointed God in the past and their motives is not to glorify God.
Also God is protecting some people from getting wealth because they will eventually loose their soul in the process... Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?.... Their soul is more impotent to God than giving them wealth.
Rabi Agur son of Jakeh prayed in the book of proverbs after understanding the cost of losing one's soul in place of wealth... Proverbs 30:8 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: 30:9 Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.
Anything you do or doing that does not honour God and humanity is vanity.
God can give you wealth, but will you be able to handle it?, will you not loose your soul in the process after God has opened the doors of wealth unto you?
God is about to entrust wealth in the hands of many in this generation, will God find you faithful?
If God has privileged you to acquire wealth, don't ever forget God like king Solomon, don't ever oppress humanity and let God take all the glory
Wealth in God is not vanity, wealth outside God is the real vanity.
If you are praying for God's wealth today, pray also for the grace and the spirit to remain in him after He must have answered your prayers.
In all you do and acquire in life, don't ever forget the source (God)
God bless you.
