The Danger of being a Betrayer
Matthew 26:23 And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me. 26:24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
A betrayer is a covenant breaker, someone who knows the secret of the strong and / or the weak point of an individual through an intimate relationship
Betrayal is the act of exposing or delivering someone to an enemy through treachery or disloyalty; the act of disappointing a person’s trust, hopes, or expectations,
the act of revealing information in violation of confidence; or the failure to keep or honour a promise, principle, cherished memory, etc.; or an act or instance of unconsciously revealing or displaying some quality or characteristic, typically one preferably concealed.
Being a believer in Christ Jesus doesn't mean you will always be surrounded by good people and those who loves you dearly, there will always be time when betrayals will come, your heart will be broken, you will feel the pain of being betrayed and may want to loose confidence in many around.
But what becomes of a betrayer?,
A friend has entrusted a secret in your hands, but you find joy in exposing the person, stabbing the person at the back just for a little gain. There is danger for you.
Considering the life of Judas which betrayed Christ
Judas was one of Christ's disciple, He called him by Himself to be among the twelve, he witnessed the power and greatness of God, he affirms He's the Messiah, he even preached and cast out devils by the power of God through Christ,
He dined and wined with Christ on several occasions, he traveled with Him from place to places, there are many times they lodged together after each ministrations.. Yet He still betrayed Jesus.
But hear what the Lord says of him. Matthew 26:24... It had been good for that man if he had not been born.
Judas commited suicide and the money he made from betraying was not even profitable unto him... He lost everything both alive and eternity.
As a betrayer, you can never succeed up to the level of the person you are betraying... Consider Joseph and his brothers they never measure up to the level of His success
The blessings and grace of God will be cut short over your life
Being a betrayer makes you become an enemy of God
The more shame you caused the person you betray the more your own life depreciate
Are you thinking of betraying someone?, your friend, family member, close associate, your spouse, your pastor, your church, the place you work?... Think before you do it... Because the anger of God coming towards you is greater than what you can bear.
Don't wait till.yiu die in the sin of betrayal, come to Jesus Christ today, confess your sins and ask for forgiveness, turn a new leaf and live in truth and love of God..
Judas didn't have a second chance, this message may be the last message of God for you... Don't ignore it.
