Our greatest inheritance in Christ
Ephesians 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
Inheritance is the practice of passing on private property, titles, debts, entitlements, privileges, rights, and obligations upon the death of an individual. The death of Jesus Christ has given us the legal privileges.of heaven to have an inheritance which has been signed and sealed with His blood that is shed on the cross at calvary.
Anyone who is able to accept Christ as Lord and personal saviour has been predestined to acquire this inheritance.
But today, there are many misconception of what the greatest inheritance is, thereby focusing on what is not.
Some thought after giving their life to Christ, their inheritance is money, they believe after salvation, God blessed with money so they shouldn't lack. But that is not the greatest inheritance
Some even think it is marriage, that once you become a believer, the greatest inheritance is beautiful marriage or fruitful marriage. But that is not the greatest inheritance God has prepared for us through Christ in His will.
Many also think it is wealth, believing on God through some Scripture verses and set their minds on it, they believe God is so rich and anyone who serve Him wholeheartedly is entitle to have the inheritance of being wealthy. But I tell you today that is not out greatest inheritance in Christ.
Some think it is long life or good job, after all, it is the promises of God for our life, but that is not the greatest inheritance that has been prepared for us even when we were yet sinner
Though God promised anyone that comes to Him will receive these blessings but it is not the greatest inheritance
Our greatest inheritance in Christ Jesus is to sit at the right hand of God, just as Christ seated.
Our greatest inheritance is to have a place with God and reign with Him till eternity.
Apostle Peter asked Jesus Christ a controversial question of disappointment after walking with Him for a while "what shall be our gain..." Matthew 19:27 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?
We thought our inheritance after following you is money, but we are not seeing the money, what shall be our gain now?
We thought it will be marriage, but we have forsaken all for you, what is then our gain?
We thought it will be long life but now you have preached to us that we will soon be Persecuted for your name sake, what then shall be put greatest inheritance in you?
Jesus Christ answered and said.
Matthew 19:28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
19:29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
All what you see now, wealth, marriage, long life, money even good jobs are just a shadow of the greatest inheritance that has been prepared for us at the end of time.
This inheritance is not just for everyone, but for anyone who accept Christ as Lord and personal saviour and walk with Him till the end.
Ho what a joy will it be to sit on the throne with Christ, ho what a joy will it be to truly be known as one of the sons of God in the eternity.
Are you sure your present way of life guarantee you this inheritance in Christ?
Do you have the assurance of sitting at the right hand of God just as Christ seated?
All what you longed for in this world, money, wealth, jobs, marriage, long life are not the greatest inheritance in Christ.
Let your greatest affection be on that throne prepared and waiting empty for our return.
Do everything possible in your capacity to get there.
You can't afford to miss it. Check your life if you are worthy... No sinner shall inherit the kingdom of God.
