The desires of the righteous shall be granted
Proverbs 10:24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
One of my student sometimes ago once questioned the verse above that do God actually grant the desires of the righteous?,. This was coming after praying earnestly for something and didn't receive it.
She was about to be posted for the compulsory national youth service and asked me to pray, I simply ask her not to have a particular place in mind that God should take her to the place of His choice.
But she was disappointed for being posted to the North as against her wish to serve in the west, we ask God, He said she placed her want ahead of His will, so she was disappointed.. God gave her punishment for it and after serving the punishment and accepting His will, God latter gave her the choice (The west) of her hearth without stress.(she was redeployed)
God actually grant the desires of the righteous.
Who is a righteous person
A righteous man is someone who believes totally in God with all his life, someone who is upright and walks diligently in the will and laws of God
Someone who fear God and eschewed evil in all areas, someone who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, who does not stand in the path of the sinner, those who delights in doing what God wants them to do, they do not place their wants ahead of God's will.
Have you been praying and it seems your prayers has never been answered?, have you desired one thing from God and it has not been granted?
Check your life...
1. Are you righteous before God?, are you faithful to Him, do you acknowledge His supremacy in your life?, are you obedient to His words and directions?
You can't have an opposite life with God and expect Him to grant your heart desires, you can't sin against Him and expect Him to answer your prayers, you can't disobey His warnings and directions and expect Him to approve all your requests... Check your life.
2. Is your desire according to the will of God?
James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
Many of our requests before God is against His will, many of our desires is born out of lust and sometimes a way to oppress others.
When we are inclined with God totally, His desires should be our desires, His will should be our contentment, the moment we go out of His will, is the moment He stops guiding us and our request becomes pending.
Check your life today, God still answer prayers, He still grant the desires of those who diligently seek Him and obey Him.
Being righteous is not being religious, being righteous is not just being named with Christ, righteousness resides in the heart, it guides your motives and direct your actions.
When you ask and you do not receive check your life, the problem is not God but you.
