God hates the Proud

Proverbs 16:5 Everyone proud and arrogant in heart is disgusting, hateful, and exceedingly offensive to the Lord; be assured [I pledge it] they will not go unpunished.   Proud is feeling deep pleasure or satisfaction as a result of one's own achievements, qualities, or possessions or those of someone with whom one is closely associated. having or showing a high or excessively high opinion of oneself or one's importance. pride is putting oneself in the place of God. it is a refusal to depend on God, but to instead depend on oneself and try to be self-sufficient.  it is well also a refusal to give him the glory he is due, but to instead seek the glory for oneself. Pride is seeing oneself better than the other, having more quality than anyone else and seeks to be honoured more than anyone  Devil is the originator of pride, he was the first person to be proud, he purposed it in his heart, but was disgraced afterwards  Isaiah  14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of

Tolerance in God's will

Psalms  33:20 Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.  33:21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. Tolerance is the  capacity to endure pain or hardship : endurance, fortitude, sympathy or indulgence for beliefs or practices differing from or conflicting with one's own. A biblical word for 'tolerance' is 'patience'. Within the Bible, patience is not just 'passively waiting', but 'enduring suffering without retaliation'. Being tolerance in God's will is accepting the risk involved, the pain, the delay in timing and trusting God for the best. Consider a student in the school, who determined to be successful at the end of academic year. Such student will abide by the rules and regulations of the school, must attend lectures whether it is convenient for the student or not, whether the student like the lecturers or not, the success of such student depends on accepting the terms and conditio

Lust

1 John  2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.   2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. In general meaning, LUST is an  intense or unbridled sexual desire, an uncontrollable strong appetite for sex. The body do not stop until it satisfy this desire, most time it results to rape.  But this message will not be limited to sexual desire but other forms through which man exhibit lust.  Looking at the  different words used in the original text of the Bible, Koine Greek, that are translated ‘lust.’ One is “pathos,” a word for desires, not just sexual, but those of the body - for food, for comfort, for ease, and  Another is “epithumia” a word for desires that are stronger, cravings of our various appetites. In all the meanings given, there are two words common to all of them which is STRONG DE

Bad Associates

1 Corinthians  15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. There was once a sister I know, who was very dedicated to the things of God, brought up in a godly home and fed with the true words of God, all through her grown up till she finishes high school, she happens to be a good example of a typical godly child. But the story changed when she got admitted to the college/University, it all started with those who were peered together with her as roommates, no doubt they never new  christ and have gone deep into sin. In her innocent, she thought she could win them over to christ, she tried  in her own capacity but their consistent influence overpowered her believe in Christ. Gradually she walks into sin, a daughter of zion becomes a full citizen of Sodom and Gomarah, someone who is tutored by Esther, Mary mother of Jesus, Hannah mother of Samuel now have Jezebel as mentor and role model. She was warned before hand, but she couldn't listen.  Her life was  totally d

The Danger of being a Betrayer

Matthew  26:23 And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.  26:24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born. A betrayer is a covenant breaker, someone who knows the secret of the strong and / or the weak point of an individual through an intimate relationship  Betrayal is the act of exposing or delivering someone to an enemy through treachery or disloyalty;  the act of disappointing a person’s trust, hopes, or expectations,   the act of revealing information in violation of confidence; or the failure to keep or honour a promise, principle, cherished memory, etc.; or an act or instance of unconsciously revealing or displaying some quality or characteristic, typically one preferably concealed. Being a believer in Christ Jesus doesn't mean you will always be surrounded by good people and those who loves you dearly, th

Mercy, not by Qualification

Romans  9:15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.  9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. In clear terms, God's mercy means His pity, compassion, and kindness toward people. The mercy of God reflect His love, a kind of love  that responds to human need in an unexpected or unmerited way. No one is actually qualified for His mercy at any point, God's demonstration of mercy is a channel through which He manifest His glory over man. Our work, our righteousness, services to God, giving, and many other religious activities is never a qualification to attract God's mercy over our life. In several ways God has shown mercy unto us even when we least deserve it 1. In His anger Our life is always full of sin, after God's commandment not to sin, man  most times deliberately walk into sin. Adam and Eve did in the garden of Eden, thier

Stop Procrastinating

Ecclesiastes  3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Procrastination is the action of unnecessarily and voluntarily delaying or postponing something despite knowing that there will be negative consequences for doing so. On several occasion many people tend to procastonate one thing or the other, postponing a decision they needed to be made urgently or delaying an action that requires fast approach. Procrastination comes in many areas of our life, it may be in career, business, choosing a life partner or rendering a help. In the circular world, there are opportunities for success that flies around, but many are tied with time, once you procrastinate, you miss it. And opportunity missed is not always regained. The believers in Christ who has become children of God are not left out in the habit of procrastinating, the God we serve is a God of now, and on many occasions He gives instructions that will help our journey in life. He gives in

Fear, the greatest enemy to Success

Isaiah  41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose, it is the favourable outcome or result. But as good as success is, it doesn't come easy, it is most time obstructed by one great enemy called fear Fear on the other hand is an unpleasant emotion or thought that you have when you are frightened or worried  by something dangerous  painful, or bad that is happening or might happen. Fear has stopped many from succeeding or reaching the Zenithal of their destiny, the feeling of uncertainty, what will happen made many to quit. So also is our faith and salvation in God is often confronted with this same enemy called Fear, it has robed many off their true potential in Christ and inheritance with God. Our walk with God is often full of uncertainty with a promising end, it comes with unreasona

Our greatest inheritance in Christ

Ephesians  1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: Inheritance is the practice of passing on private property, titles, debts, entitlements, privileges, rights, and obligations upon the death of an individual. The death of Jesus Christ has given us the legal privileges.of heaven to have an inheritance which has been signed and sealed with His blood that is shed on the cross at calvary.  Anyone who is able to accept Christ as Lord and personal saviour has been predestined to acquire this inheritance.  But today, there are many misconception of what the greatest inheritance is, thereby focusing on what is not.  Some thought after giving their life to Christ, their inheritance is money, they believe after salvation, God blessed with money so they shouldn't lack. But that is not the greatest inheritance  Some even think it is marriage, that once you become a believer,

Enter through the narrow way

Matthew  7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:  7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Our life here on earth is a pilgrimage and we are all pilgrims, we look forward to see and experience that eternal bliss with our maker, but there is only one way that leads to the kingdom of God even though there are many routes that seems to be the way but the end is destruction Strait is the gate and narrow is the way that leads to the eternal life in God, but only few walk in it The way of life is all righteousness, and is called narrow for the contrary reasons. It must be considered that unless one walk in the way, he cannot arrive at the gate; so they that walk not in the way of righteousness, it is impossible that they truly know Christ. The path does not accommodate any attachment whatsoever that we may thi

Do not cause another to Stumble

Luke 17:1 “There will always be temptations to sin,” Jesus said one day to his disciples, “but woe to the man who does the tempting. The journey of a Christian life has always been attacked  with loads of temptations, offences, false accusations and persecutions which can force a believer to fall off the path of salvation... All these are orchestrated by the devil in other to pull down the mighty works of Christ's salvation.  In verse 1, Jesus turns to the disciples in order to warn them concerning what is about to come to them in future time, Satan will use deceived men to tempt the disciples to fall away. If the disciples are inclined to believe the deceptions of satan  Today there are many deceptions of the devil parading in the society and even the churches ... There are many who has raised up themselves as agent of temptations in other to pull the faithful down from the path of salvation.  There are many mentors, leaders of the gospel who has caused their mentee or follower wh

Nothing is hiden from God

Jeremiah  16:17 For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes. The God we serve is an omnipresent God, who see everywhere, be everywhere at all times, Every of our activities is not hiden from Him, both in darkness and in the light, both in the day and in the night, nothing is hiden from him even our thoughts that reside in our heart. King David acknowledged the supremacy of God being omnipresent in one of his Psalms... Psalms  139:7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?  139:8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. It is evidence that we cannot hide anything from God.  How are you living your life today, what are you doing that you think nobody knows about it?  What do you think you are keeping a secret and can never be revealed to man?  Everything you are doing or doing presently is never hiden from God who sees all at th

When Jesus left, Christ Remain

Exodus  32:1 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. The manifestation of the person of Christ Jesus was first physical among the children of Israel, He was given birth to, grew up like Every human, though being God. He began His ministerial journey first by appointing His disciples, performed so many magnificent miracles, died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead the third day to perfect the work of salvation and ascended to heaven in expectation that He is coming back again. Though Jesus the son of the carpenter left the disciples at Galilee, but Christ the Messiah remained in them, they were filled in the Holyghost and continue in the propagation of the gospel, no wonder they were called Christians first at Anthoic beca

The desires of the righteous shall be granted

Proverbs  10:24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted. One of my student sometimes ago once questioned the verse above that do God actually grant the desires of the righteous?,. This was coming after praying earnestly for something and didn't receive it. She was about to be posted for the compulsory national youth service and asked me to pray, I simply ask her not to have a particular place in mind that God should take her to the place of His choice. But she was disappointed for being posted to the North as against her wish to serve in the west, we ask God, He said she placed her want ahead of His will, so she was disappointed..  God gave her punishment for it and after serving the punishment and accepting His will, God latter gave her the choice (The west) of her hearth without stress.(she was redeployed) God actually grant the desires of the righteous. Who is a righteous person A righteous man is someone who believe

What Profit are you to Christ?

Luke  10:41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:  10:42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. Being named with Christ or becoming a believer is an investment God instituted himself. As many has been saved, we are to showcase the love we receive to others around us so as for them to be saved. That in this your life becomes profitable to God. Many are times we are much  busy at doing what pleases us,  neglecting the things that pleases  God. Many are too occupied with natural things of this world neglecting the spiritual duties God has committed to us.  What profit are you to  Christ and God since you have been named with Him? We keep asking from God,  yet we fail to give Him what He deserves.  Considering the parable of the master who gave talents to his servants to trade with... Matthew  25:14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a f

Your horrible Yesterday, not your Tomorrow

Judges  11:1 Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he was the son of an harlot: and Gilead begat Jephthah. The progression of life often  determined by the precedence of the day or years before. Either good or bad, a building foundation can determine the strength of the whole building... The effort of yesterday can project what tomorrow will look like.. But when it comes to the program of God, anything can happen, the yesterday does not have clue of what tomorrow will be, neither does a firm and good foundation will determine the strength and integrity of a building. Judging from the story of Jephthah, a mighty man of valour as recorded in the scripture, but he was a son of a harlot His birth was not planned, his parent never have mutual agreement of getting married, he was a product of adultery, in fact he was an unwanted pregnancy whose mother decided not to abort. To make matter worse, he was rejected by his Brethren, he was hated and sent out of the family

What kind of soil is your heart?

Luke 8:11 “This is its meaning: The seed is God’s message to men. The heart of a man is the engine room that guides the totality of man's life, both physical and spiritual, the body can act in a different way but the real intent and actions may still be locked up in the heart. Jesus gave the parable of the sower, having much fruit and began to sow, some fell on the way, another on the rock another in the thorn and the last on a good land. The seed represent the word of the living God and the sower are the numerous preachers of the Gospel today, the different locations represents your heart. What kind of soul is your heart? 1. On the way side Luke  8:12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. These sets of people, though they are christians at one time, but when the  truth of the word is being preached, they never have it a thought, they reject it immediately, they rej

There will be no Excuse

John 15:22 “They would not be guilty if I had not come and spoken to them. But now they have no excuse for their sin. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is an open invitation to new life in God, and an assurance of living eternally in peace and joy with Him. But on several occasions people have rejected this offer of peace in God, it has been despised and even the messengers are sometimes murdered in the cause of preaching the good news. The good news is a free offer of God himself towards all mankind irrespective of colour, race or language... Before the great tribulation that will besiege the whole world. Many thought it's a joke, many believe it's a lie, many lost their hope of His second coming because it had taken too long thereby continue in their sin and wicked ways. In John 15:21 through 22, Jesus was speaking to His disciples of the latter persecution that the world will meted on them because of preaching the good news... He charged them never to be afraid and that the wo

Moral Decadence and Spiritual Sensitivity

2 Timothy  3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. Moral decadence is the decline, decay and profligate in the moral values of individuals and society at large, this generation is no doubt witnessing the perilous time the bible prophesied about and even the church is not exempted. Apostle Paul warned his son in the Lord to be conscious and sensitive to the happenings that will be witnessed during the last days Some of the incidence that  will manifest includes the following.. 2 Timothy  3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,  3:3 Without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,  3:4 Traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;  3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. If not all, many of these has been parading the society

Betrayals will come

John  13:21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. Betrayal is the breaking or violation of a presumptive contract, trust, or confidence that produces moral and psychological conflict within a relationship Being a believer in Christ Jesus doesn't mean you will always be surrounded by good people and those who loves you dearly, there will always be time when betrayals will come, your heart will be broken, you will feel the pain of being betrayed and may want to loose confidence in  many around. Betrayals can come from friends, family members, partners, colleagues at work, your mentor or even your spiritual fathers or mothers who you are even looking unto as a role model in the spirit. Did you know, Even Jesus Christ was once betrayed? Yes the Lord was betrayed by one of His disciple.. John  13:21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Ve

Knocked down, but not out

2 Corinthians  4:8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;  4:9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; The game of boxing is a very interesting game to watch, which sometimes consist of rounds of play... The players will fight to win through out the rounds which can even be for about ten. A player can be knocked down several times with many bruises on his/her body, but that doesn't determine he/she has lost the fight. The ability to stand up and continue the fight sometimes scare the other opponent to lose the game totally. So also is the journey of a believer in Christ, you are persecuted daily, both physical and spiritual, devil fight daily and keeps knocking you down in the ring of salvation... But the grace of God is there always to help you  stand up and fight again and again till you win. Considering the life of Samson in the scripture... He was knocked down when his powers were striped from him, even

God Addicted

Romans  6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?  6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Addiction is an inability to stop using a substance or engaging in a behavior even though it is causing psychological and physical harm. The term addiction does not only refer to dependence on substances such as heroin or cocaine. Some addictions also involve an inability to stop partaking in activities such as gambling, eating, or working. Becoming God addict is being obsessed with the Holy spirit and unable to stop being spiritually minded in every minutes of one's life. Confessing Jesus Christ as the Lord is the first step to salvation and the process of knowing God, but many only ends their spiritual life stagnant since that very day, they refuse to grow and become like Him . Apostle
