Lawlessness and Lovelessness will abound
Matthew 24:12 And the love of the great body of people will grow cold because of the multiplied lawlessness and iniquity,
The disciples of Christ came to him in private, after a long day ministration and asked him, what shall be the sign of His second coming.
The disciples want to be conscious of the timing, so as not to be caught unaware, they besought to know occurrences that proceeds His second coming.
Christ, in His reply gave the disciples clues of occurrences that proceeds his appearing, one of which is that lawlessness will abound and the love of many will wax cold.
It will be a social environment where men will not submit to the laws of either God or man and human relationships will digress to animal instincts. Many will take laws into their hands perpetrating evils. No one will be able to restrain their evil acts and many innocent will fall victim of their evil deeds.
The love of many in the Lord will wax cold because the innocent experience the worst of life and evil doers enjoy life to the fullness, persecution will come and many will deny their faith.
It is already happening, as there are series of war, killings, kidnapping, ritual killings among others around us, people taking laws into their hands, they find it difficult to obey the governmental laws while people in government also makes life miserable to the common masses.
Do not be surprised, these are signs that proceeds the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Christ admonished the believers never to be carried away by the atrocities that will flood the world in the end of time, only those that endure to the end, shall surely be saved. Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Believers are adviced to hold their faith in Christ strong, because there will be situations of life that will challenge their believe in Christ and God.
Do not be carried away, stay on guard, trust in the Lord with all you have, and continue steadfastly in Him until His return.
