He died with his boots on

2 Kings  13:21 And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.

Elisha was one of the most prominent prophets in the land of Israel, he came to limelight when he was called into the ministry by prophet elijah.

He did followed the footsteps of his master, even acquiring his double potion of power of God, he severed God till his last minute

Though dead, God continued to work through Elisha, this implies that his relationship with God was not broken till death, his work as a prophet continued even in the grave. He died with his boot on.

Such like is every believers in Christ Jesus are expected to die with their boots on... This is not in like manner to necessarily be a prophet or a minister of God, but as a saved soul in Christ, every believer is expected to maintain their relationship with God till death.

To die with one's boot on is to keep working till death, a believer must keep their stand in Christ from salvation till death

The first Apostles died with their boots on, despite the many persecutions, hatred, denials of good things of life, they focus on the prize at the end, they were not discouraged by the rejection of many, they loved not their life unto death.

The begining of your journey with Christ may be beautiful, but it will be more beautiful and glorious when you die if your boots of righteousness, holiness and salvation are still on you.

Hebrews  12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

If one takes his mind off Jesus, he will be diverted to other things, and thus, discontinue his participation in the race, unlike Gehazi who was distracted by the prices of silver and changed of cloths, his journey to become the next prophet of Israel was cut short.

It is essential, therefore, that every Christian focus his attention on Jesus who has gone before and is waiting for us in the heavenly realm.

As a soldier of Christ Jesus fighting the good fight of faith, will you still have your boots on when you shall die?,

Do not be weary, do not be discouraged by so many critics, and persecutors that surrounds, your Labour of faith may not be noticed by men, but it is written in the palm of the living God.

Let us continue in the faith bestowed upon us till death, we can only be glorified at the end  if we have our boots on.

God bless you.
