Do not rob the Poor

Proverbs  22:22 Rob not the poor, because he is poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate:  22:23 For the LORD will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them.

It is a detestable thing in the eyes of God for anyone to take advantage of the poor. If the rich exploit the poor in order to build their wealth, they have manifested an act of  unrighteousness, and God will take the side of the poor if they are oppressed. 

King david in the scripture exhibited an act of unrighteousness by taking advantage of the poor Uriah,  King David, by all sense of authority has the power to marry as many  maiden, virgin as possible, who has never been betrothed to any man, since He is a king. 

But instead, he took the only wife of Uriah, and lay with her forcefully against her wish, and also killed her husband. This is an act of robing the poor. God took no time to condemn his evil act. 2 Samuel  12:11 Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.  12:12 For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.

Being poor is not only having no resources to call wealth... And being rich is not only in the accumulation of wealth. 

As a leader, your subjects are poor in power, they answer to your call, and give respect to you. It will be an evil act to rob them of their benefits in order for you to accumulate more wealth for yourself. 

As a master who have many servants, workers, and followers, they work for you day and night, but instead of giving them their wages, you deny them, you are robing off their benefits and taking advantage of their inability to challenge you... God in heaven will challenge you and plead their cause. 

As a husband in the home who keeps oppressing his wife through infidelity, domestic violence, emotional violence among others, God will plead her  cause upon you if you fail to seek forgiveness and repent. 

Leaders of the nations, organisations, who in the reals sense suppose to make life easy and enjoyable for the masses, but instead makes it miserable... God will definitely plead their cause. 

Repent from all your act of wickedness before the anger of the Lord knocks on your door. 

God fights for the less privilege, and the poor, he will never let their  tears waste in vain.
