God's Standard Remain
2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
In a time past when God was directly overseeing the affairs of man, His law is very paramount for anyone who will walk with Him, and anyone who violates His orders will pay dearly for it.
We have many occurrences in the scriptures where God never spare anyone who sin against him.
Adam and Eve sinned against God, he cursed them for their disobedience and cast them out of the wonderful garden he had first made for them. Their remorseful act never bring them back to the garden.
God also did not spare Cain after killing. Abel he became a wonderer for the rest of his life.
The wickedness of men was so much in the days of Noah, he destroyed all of them sparing only Noah and his household.
The standard of God didn't change on moses, despite how he moved with God from the burning bush experience, to standing before Pharoah, the parting of the red sea and the wilderness experience, yet the Lord didn't not spared him to see the promised land after he dishonoured God before the people.
The coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and His resurrection put an end to all series of sacrifices God had first demanded for the remission of man's sin, for the blood of lambs and bullocks etc can not totally take away the sin of man. Only the blood of a sinless man, which is Christ Jesus can.
His death and resurrection gives us the privilege to have access to the father without going through any proxy.
His death and resurrection did not reduce the standard of God for righteous and holy living, the grace He gave does not give room for continual act of sin. It rather buy man time to repent before the anger of God visits.
Claiming the grace of God and still continue in SIN is a way of provoking God to anger, though he is rich in long-suffering but he does not condone sin.
Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Christ has risen for the dead for the salvation of your soul, give your life to him and put to death the nature of sin in you and its works, because His standard of punishment against sinners still remain.
2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
Don't wait till you are cut in the trap of no forgiveness... Tomorrow may be too late.
God bless you.
