Perilous time is here

2 Timothy  3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. Apostle Paul reminded his beloved son in Christ concerning the occurrences that will flood the world during the last days.  He never let Timothy to be ignorant of what shall come in latter times, this he explained in his second letter.  There has been well developed believers in Christ, who are consciously following the teachings of Christ through the apostles, but a time will come when sound doctrines will become an history and many will derail from the truth.  In the last days he said... 2 Timothy  3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,  3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,  3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;  3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

He died with his boots on

2 Kings  13:21 And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet. Elisha was one of the most prominent prophets in the land of Israel, he came to limelight when he was called into the ministry by prophet elijah. He did followed the footsteps of his master, even acquiring his double potion of power of God, he severed God till his last minute Though dead, God continued to work through Elisha, this implies that his relationship with God was not broken till death, his work as a prophet continued even in the grave. He died with his boot on. Such like is every believers in Christ Jesus are expected to die with their boots on... This is not in like manner to necessarily be a prophet or a minister of God, but as a saved soul in Christ, every believer is expected to maintain their relationship with God til

Rest In Peace ( R. I. P. )

Revelation  21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Rest in peace, a phrase from the Latin requiescat in pace, is sometimes used in traditional Christian services and prayers for the dead... And it is most time inscribed on the tomb of any Christian who died.  Rest in peace is not just a messages of farewell to the dead but a message to depicts where the dead will wake up to in after life.  This world is full of tribulation, persecution and war, but Christ affirmed that He has overcome the world. John  16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Christ is the peace of the world, he was the solution to the death in sin of man, he gave everlasting life through His death on the cross and whoever thus believes in him wi

Play your role

Joshua  1:2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.  1:3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. There is a divine transition in the camp of the Israelite after the death of moses, God's servant who led them out of egypt. Despite the death of moses, the Israelite must still continue on their journey to the promise land, so God choose Joshua as moses' successor. Joshua  1:2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel. This command by God is one kind of a strange command, the one that indicates a change in the history of Israel. Israel had fought defensive wars to come to this point. Now they were about to fight offensive wars to take the land. God re-emphasise that he ha

Be a good example

1 Timothy  4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Believers in Christ Jesus are the light in the darkness of this world, they are to illuminate the character of Christ anywhere thy find themselves  A good disciple of Christ will showcase God's love, compassion, forgiveness and kindness, if this is not seen in anyone who claims to be a follower of Christ, then such person is a bad example for others.  When the lifestyle of the teacher conforms  to the message he teaches, then there is power in his teaching  Paul exhorted Timothy to manifest an example in daily communication in conversation and teaching. Daily Christian behaviour, loving concern for the affairs of others, faithfulness and maintaining purity in his life.  Our character and behaviour speaks louder and better than the words of our mouth, we have a greater chance of influencing others by what we do rather than what

Your Mindset

Ephesians  4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; A man's mindset is a  way of thinking; an attitude or opinion, especially which has become an habitual one.  Our mindset is a key towards our advancement in the spirit or our declination in God's move in us.  We may claim to have faith in God, but it is our mindset that determines if our faith is  healthy enough to receive God's promises or not. Many people missed God's blessings and move in their life because of their negative mindset towards God's word, we may confess positivity, but does our mind come in agreement with our mouth?  Many  others create enmity and hatred towards one another because of their mindset. Nathaniel in John 1:46 had a negative mindset towards the city of Nazareth, for He said.. John  1:46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.  Though Nazareth may be a small city of the nation of Israel which could be void of

Do not miss your opportunity

John  5:7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Every moment of greatness, success, deliverance and breakthrough are product of an opportunity that was recognised and utilized.  Our life is preprogrammed by God which can at one point or the other be altered by us through our actions, towards life and God. Nevertheless, God wants the best for us, so in other to get us back into his program or get the best out of him, he brings opportunities into our ways...  There was a man  who had been crippled for thirty eight years who was forgotten at the pool of bethesda, perhaps if an angel would come and stair the water he would be healed... But for good thirty eight years his life remain the same.  On a faithful day his life would receive a total turnaround, came Jesus Christ to the pool, an opportunity was presented before him, an open check that would transform his life...

Let go, let God

1 Peter 5:6-7 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. There are times when life  become so difficult to live, those we trusted so much are the originator of our evil. hatred, resentment and unforgiving set in. We hold this grudge in our heart and we are not willing to let go At some other parts of life when we expect so much from God but we receive less, we prayed for good health but we receive  death as an answered prayer. We request for good things of life but, it seems God is not up there to listen to our cry. Our faith becomes shattered and we resolve God is not powerful to save.  All of these has become the burden we carry everyday, it changes our relationship with people and our fellowship with  God. Some have even lost hope in God, and have given up their faith in Him, yet He loves us.  Father Abraham had been waiting for a child he would call his own for many years, he wou

Do not rob the Poor

Proverbs  22:22 Rob not the poor, because he is poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate:  22:23 For the LORD will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them. It is a detestable thing in the eyes of God for anyone to take advantage of the poor. If the rich exploit the poor in order to build their wealth, they have manifested an act of  unrighteousness, and God will take the side of the poor if they are oppressed.  King david in the scripture exhibited an act of unrighteousness by taking advantage of the poor Uriah,  King David, by all sense of authority has the power to marry as many  maiden, virgin as possible, who has never been betrothed to any man, since He is a king.  But instead, he took the only wife of Uriah, and lay with her forcefully against her wish, and also killed her husband. This is an act of robing the poor. God took no time to condemn his evil act. 2 Samuel  12:11 Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine

Satan in Disguise

2 Corinthians  11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.  11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. Satan is the enemy of God who was cast from his throne to earth while trying to take over the throne of God. He then manifest to destroy every wonderful works of God from generation to generations.  As powerful as he is, he never appear to man in a bodily form, but takes the nature of a thing in other to perpetrate his evil. His nature becomes manifested in the life of anything he so wishes to work with.  At first in the garden of Eden, the serpent gave heed to his deceit and made itself available for use... Though it is a serpent but it was Satan in disguise. The serpent exhibited one of his character which is lies.... Genesis  3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:  3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat the

The essence of Pentecost

Acts  1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. After the resurrection, Christ gathered his disciples and those who believed in him at Galilie for a parting word. He charged them to continue in the teaching he had taught them and also never to depart from Jerusalem but to wait for the promise of the Father... The Holy Spirit.  The promise of the Father came while the disciples and the believers gathered in the upper room on the very day of pentecost which is fifty days after the resurrection.  The significance of pentecost came after the outpouring of the spirit of God upon everyone who was at the upper room. All who gathered received the Holy spirit. They all spoke in a new language different from their native.  The essence of pentecost must be adequately understood by anyone who believes in Christ Jesus.  Christ did not ga

Lawlessness and Lovelessness will abound

Matthew 24:12 And the love of the great body of people will grow cold because of the multiplied lawlessness and iniquity, The disciples of Christ came to him in private, after a long day ministration and asked him, what shall be the sign of His second coming. The disciples want to be conscious of the timing, so as not to be caught unaware, they besought to know occurrences that proceeds His second coming.  Christ, in His reply gave the disciples clues of occurrences that proceeds his appearing, one of which is that  lawlessness will abound and the love of many will wax cold.  It will be a social environment where men will not submit to the laws of either God or man and human relationships will digress to animal instincts. Many will take laws into their hands perpetrating evils.  No one will be able to restrain their evil acts and many innocent will fall victim of their evil deeds.  The love of many in the Lord will wax cold because the innocent experience the worst of life and evil doe

God's Standard Remain

2 Timothy  2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. In a time past when God was directly overseeing the affairs of man, His law is very paramount for anyone who will walk with Him, and anyone who violates His orders will pay dearly for it. We have many occurrences in the scriptures where God never spare anyone who sin against him. Adam and Eve sinned against God, he cursed them for their disobedience and cast them out of the wonderful garden he had first made for them. Their remorseful act never bring them back to the garden. God also did not spare Cain after killing. Abel he became a wonderer for the rest of his life. The wickedness of men was so much in the days of Noah, he destroyed all of them sparing only Noah and his household. The standard of God didn't change  on moses, despite how he moved with God from the burning bush experience, to

Come and See, Go and Tell

Matthew  28:6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.  28:7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary had went to see the tomb of Jesus Christ, they could have been discussing who would roll away the stone, they wanted to confirm the truth of the words of Christ, they wanted to have a first hand information about the resurrection Christ talked about.  When they arrived at the tomb, God had done what no man can do. He rolled away the stone in the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.  The angel beckoned on them to come and see the goodness and marvelous work of God. To come and see that death could not hold Him, neither the grave. Not even the roman soldiers were able to stop the stone from rolling, and God suffered not his body to know decay.  Just as the angel called unto the women to come

You are very precious to God

Jeremiah  31:3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. No one can actually measure the depth of God's love for man, in so many ways He has displayed his unfailing love to everyone irrespective of who you are or what you have done.  He expressed his first love towards man during creation, making man out of dust and giving life into it, creating a garden of peace which becomes man's source of living.  Genesis  1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. His love towards man did not diminish even when man disobeyed his commandment and fell into sin, He still

It was not Suicide but Sacrifice

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. The Crucification of Christ on the cross on calvary is not a suicide decision made by him, neither was it for fun to test his power of rising from the dead. It was a sacrifice of redemption to call every sinner back to the righteousness of God.  Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. He endured pain so we will not be in eternal pain, he was bruised so our iniquities can be erased, and endured death so we will not die the second death. It was not for fun, neither is it a suicide...  How we are tou responding to the sacrifice Christ selflessly made on the cross?, how positive are you towards the call to redemption God offers through the death of His only son

You are not Alone

Isaiah  43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. Have you ever got to a junction of life where everything seems so difficult that you begin to ask questions like... Where is God in my suffering?, Has He forgotten about me?, does he even exist to know what I am passing through? But believe me, God understands every situation of life every man will pass through, He Does know there would be time we will be overwhelmed with fear and uncertainty of what tomorrow will bring. He does know even when we find ourselves in  circumstances that negates his promises and will for our life.. The scriptures revealed to us that God is with us in every situations of life no matter how difficult they may be. Isaiah  43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overfl

A stitch in time saves Nine

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. The 'stitch in time' is simply the prompt sewing up of a small hole or tear in a piece of material, so saving the need for more stitching at a later date when the hole has become larger.  Clearly the first users of this expression were referring to saving nine stitches. This also interprets that prompt action against little problems saves the burden of facing bigger problems in latter time.  The life of of Eli the priest and his children were a perfect example of getting rid of small problems before becoming a great deal.  They grew up in the house of God but their father was not conscious enough to notice when they were derailing from the ways of the Lord, their wrong doings were reported several times to their father but little did Eli did to curb their waywardness.  1 Samuel 2:12 Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the LORD. 2:17 Wherefore the sin

The coming of the Lord Jesus Christ

Acts  1:10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;  1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. Jesus Christ had died for the sin of mankind, exhibiting the love of God that no one should perish in sin but have everlasting life of peace, joy and happiness with Him after being transformed into an incorruptible body. He is coming back again, His second coming is eminent, believers in Him should be ready and be in an expectation of his coming.  The events of his coming will be quickly. 1 Thessalonians  5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.,  He will descend with shout, a shout that will be heard in all places of the world, every ears will hear, both the deaf and the dumb will experience the shout of His second co

The Danger of Spiritual Portals

1 John  4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.  4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: The spirit realm is the world or realm inhabited by spirits, both good or evil of various spiritual manifestations. Whereas religion regards an inner life, the spirit world is regarded as an external environment for spirits. Spiritual portals are channels that opened the communication link between the earth world and the spirit realm. Fasting and praying, denials of flesh, and hunger for and sacrifice  brings  man into the spirit realm. The spirit realm is not only controlled by the spirit of God. The devil and other Fallen  angels also  operate in the spirit Operating in the spirit realm requires sacrifices... For the children of God, Christ has been given as the only sacrifice that opened the portal to God, other por

The reign of Christ among God's people

John  12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. God has not left His people in confusion on earth, Jesus rules from heaven by the authority of His written word. He is the only Head of the Church, and thus, all direction of the church on earth must come form the authority of His Word.  There is no head or authority in the church on earth who is to compete with the sovereignty of Jesus as the head of the universal Church. The same is applicable in our individual life.  As our head, Jesus seeks to direct our lives through His word.  Matthew  11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Christ seeks to help you, give you direction to life troubles, and ease your soul of pain...  As our king, we voluntarily submit to His

Unity of the Church

Psalms  133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! Unity of the body of Christ is a fundamental doctrine that is manifested in the oneness of believers on their common covenant relationship with God. Unity is based in all those who have their common salvation in Christ that results from having obeyed the Gospel through baptism into the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.  Apostle Paul admonished the church at Corinth that they should be of one mind and speak same thing when he noticed there are some divisions among the brethren. 1 Corinthians  1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. Apostle Paul pleaded with them on the foundation of the authority of Jesus that was invested in him. The fact that all Christians have submitted to one Lord is the found

The Shiloh Journey

1 Samuel  1:5 But unto Hannah he gave a worthy portion; for he loved Hannah: but the LORD had shut up her womb.  1:6 And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the LORD had shut up her womb.  1:7 And as he did so year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, so she provoked her; therefore she wept, and did not eat. Shiloh was an ancient city and sanctuary in Samaria. According to the Hebrew Bible, Shiloh was the central sanctuary of the Israelites during the pre-monarchic period, before the First Temple in Jerusalem was built.  Hannah the wife of Elikanah was without a child for many years, as a mandated act of worship, her household would go to shiloh once in a year to serve God, and  of this years she would pour her heart out to God in a bid to have a child she can call her won.  She kept doing this for many years yet her prayers had no answer, the number of years she had been going to shiloh was not known but it can be assumed from the number

God's still small voice

1 Kings  19:12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. Elijah had just faced the greatest persecution of his life from the hand of Jezebel, the wife of King Ahab, so he fled to a cave out of fear.  God appeared to him and asked him to go to the mountain where He would meet him.  The move of God  made a great wind to tore the mountain which was proceeded by a fire and an earthquake... But God didn't speak in any of this as Elijah would have expected...  It was in a still small voice.  God does not need to appear in great physical events as earthquakes, fire and even wind in order to initiate His work. His power can be concealed behind a whisper. Many believers today has lost communication with God because they try to formulate the mode which God must speak to them..  Many have lost their blessings and answered prayer because they try to underestimate the channel of God's move in their life... They are focusing on

Nemesis

Galatians  6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. The tomorrow we prayed for yesterday, is the today we are experiencing. So also is our deeds yesterday will become the product of tomorrow. Every of our actions today will always have a return value in our tomorrow,  if it is good deeds, goodness will come to us or our generation yet unborn, but if it is evil, nemesis will come to us and it can never be avoided.  Nemesis is a punishment or defeat that is deserved and cannot be avoided. This is the reward for  anyone who practices evil against another man or humanity.  Adonibezek was the king of Canaan when Judah assume leader after the death of Joshua, he was well known for his great evil in cutting the thumbs and big toes of about seventy Kings. His nemesis came after him when the children of Judah went to war against the Canaanites, just as he did for the seventy Kings, so also was done to him.  Judges  1:6 But Adonibezek fled; an

BELIEVE, BECOME , BEHAVE

1 John  4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. The transformation process of any believer is centered on the three points of believing, becoming and behaving...  The first step to redemption is to believe that Christ is the son of God and He is the  saviour of the world, also we must believe in all his teachings, without this, salvation is never possible.  John  3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. BECOMING: It is only when we believe in Christ that we can become the son of God...Galatians  3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.  3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. It is through Christ' adoption we have access to God whom has loved us even when we were yet sinner... No one can identify with God without the sacrificial atonement of Christ on the cross. He

The captivity is for a reason

Daniel  1:1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.  1:2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god. Josiah was killed on his way to battle with Assyrians Against the babylonians. Jehoiakim was then appointed the king of Judah, but his reign was subdued by nebuchadnezzar shortly after.  The first captivity of the Jews followed, and thus the begining of the end of national Israel in the land of Palestine. It was with this captivity of Israelites that Daniel and his three friends were taken to Babylonian captivity, from which Daniel did not returned.  In order to consolidate his kingdom reign, Nebuchadnezzar chose the most gifted young men of his kingdom in order that they be trained for leadership. Among the men was
