Overcoming Temptations
Romans 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be
dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your
mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
Temptation is
Something attractive, tempting or seductive; an inducement or enticement.
*Pressure
applied to your thinking designed to create wrong emotions which will
eventually lead to wrong actions(SIN)*
Temptation
is not the same as committing sin; sin is the result of a conception –
when the mind agrees with the desire (or
lust) that dwells in the flesh, or human
nature. That is, committing sin is something you choose to do , and sin cannot be carried out
unless you agree with it.
When we are
yielding to sin, God will not hear our prayers. Satan knows this, and this is
one reason why he works so hard at tempting Christians to sin.
Every Christian
has a besetting sin. This is the sin that you are most tempted with. *Satan
knows your weakest point*, and *this is where he tempts you most*. To have
victory over this sin and the other sins in your life, you must learn how to
overcome temptation.
You must always
fight the devil, rebook him, and cast him behind you so he can flee
To truly
overcome temptations you must Believe that Christ has already overcome,
so you must overcome
*Be dead to sin
and be alive in Christ Jesus*
*Let the Holy
spirit dwell in you* and
*Be on guard
with the word of God.*
...
You must always
know, no matter how spiritual you
are, the devil will always bring
temptations to the door step of your heart.
*... Those that
will not eat the forbidden fruit will not play under the forbidden tree*
The devil cannot
force you to sin, so he brings
temptation as an approach.
Renounce the
lust of the flesh and be regenerated in the newness of life in Christ.
God bless
you.
