The Lordship of Christ

Philippians  2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:  2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:  2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:  2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.  2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:  2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;  2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Jesus came from heaven to earth, contracted Himself to the measure of a virgin's womb, was born in Bethlehem, lived a perfect life and died on a cross an atoning sacrificial death, was buried in a tomb and was raised victoriously, and ascended into heaven to occupy His throne in Glory where God has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name.

His act and sacrifice on earth coupled with his accession to heaven establishes His lordship over every of God's creation that ever existed and will exist in heaven, on earth and beneath the earth.

When we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, it involves a recognition of His lordship, for the Savior who saved us when we received Him by faith is the Lord Jesus Christ. We cannot and do not receive Him as Savior only. We receive Him as Lord and Savior

When a person yields to the lordship of Jesus Christ, he or she acknowledges His ownership and gives up his or her personal rights. Yielding to the lordship of Jesus Christ also involves total and unreserved obedience. If He is the Lord of your life, you are going to do what He tells you to do.

If so then Christ is Lord over your life,  why is it difficult for you to submit to His authority?, why do you keep falling away from His commandments and set down rules He gives per time and season? John  13:13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.  13:14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.  13:15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

When Jesus is Lord of a person's life, he will fulfill his duties, obligations, and responsibilities with joy. We do not contend our life and everything that belong to us with Him, talk of our marriage, business, job, children, etc. We surrender our will for His will, His desire becomes our unchangeable desire, and we heed to whatever instruction He gives.

Christ is not just Lord for the living, He also is Lord over the dead, this is the reason He seized the power from death and grave at His resurrection. Romans  14:9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

Ultimately, There is coming a day when every person who has ever lived will bow and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. But for the Christians, that great confession should be an everyday reality. A Christian should live moment by moment in faithful submission to the lordship of Jesus Christ.

The question is, is Christ Lord over your life? Even though you confess Him as lord, but is He truly your Lord?, are you not dragging your life with him?.

If you fail to surrender your life totally to His lordship here on earth, you will not have a path in His lordship in the kingdom of God to come.

Surrender all to Him today, and enjoy the blessings of His lordship.

God bless you.
