Riches in God's glory
Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Apostle Paul was giving a closing remark to the Philippian believers, while encouraging them, Paul was confident that God would meet their needs because they were generous in their giving.
This is not a promise of wealth, or even an easy life. Rather, the concept of "need" has to be considered according to God's will. What we "need" and what we "want" are not always the same thing.
God tends to bless those who will use the resources they have according to His purposes. This is something Paul observed specifically happening with the Philippians.
Their needs would be met through Christ, the one who made and controlled all things. They would never lack with Christ as their provider. From the earliest pages of Scripture, God has been known as the Lord who will provide (Genesis 22:14), affirmed by Peter as well (2 Peter 1:11).
But in this context, the true riches in God's glory are the spiritual heritage needed for kingdom manifestation in this world
The design of salvation is for God to display the riches of his glory in the life of believers: “That he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had prepared beforehand for glory, even us whom he called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles.” (Romans 9:23-24).
Believers are not called to showcase the glories of the world. We are called to show forth the glories of the kingdom of God, which are clearly absent in the world. While the world is rich in money, it is poor in mercy, righteousness, in truth and in compassion.
The believer is born again to salt the earth. He salts it with the fruit of the Spirit of God. He supplies the missing quotient of love, joy, and peace. He salts the earth with the riches of goodness. He is kindhearted, honest, faithful and just. The world is starved of these attributes. But they are the ornaments of the kingdom of God.
When you are endowed with God's riches in His glory, your life becomes evidence of God's grace and glory towards humanity through the substance that God gives.
The riches in His glory includes, godliness, mercy, righteousness, justice, truth, compassion, love, among others, when you possess these, then the riches of this world would makes meaning..
Seek first His kingdom and other things will be added which has not atom of sorrow or pain.
God bless you.
