Integrity

Proverbs  20:7 The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.

Integrity means the practice of being honest and showing a consistent and uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles and values.

Daniel our cases study was a man of high integrity and virtue, he possess the quality of being honest and having strong moral principle and uprightness. It is generally his choice to hold himself to consistent moral and ethical standards.

Daniel set his goals early in life to enable him become a man of highest reference and integrity in the scripture. When he faced the challenges to compromise his integrity,he kept standing for his maker.

He took a bold decision in His heart not to defile himself with the king's choice of food or with the wine which he drank, he requested from the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love of the eunuchs.( Daniel 1 v 7-9)

In chapter 6, he was made the first of the three president and preferred because he has an excellent spirit in him. His elevation evoked jealousy among the pagan leaders who sought to take Daniel's life by telling the king to establish a royal stature, and make firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any god or man besides you, O king for thirty days, shall be casted into the Lions den. ( As a believer and carrier of God's word today can you stand the test of faith?)

Daniel was focused and bent to honoring his God irrespective of any document signed and decree made, he therefore went to his house and open his window towards Jerusalem and knelt to his God countless times.

our character depends solemnly on our integrity in life. Irrespective of what Daniel had posses. that time, he stood for his maker. People with integrity are people  who are honest with themselves, with others and with God, they don't waste energy to pretend to be who they are not, they are not afraid of what others  may find out about them because they have nothing to hide.

Obviously, Daniel was a model of integrity that we admires alot. No wonder psalm 78 v 72 says; he shepherd them according to the integrity of his heart; whereas a double-minded man is instable in all his ways.

Daniel was honest, faithful, possess integrity and uprightness without expecting any reward, therefore he prosper not only during the reign of Darius, even the reign of Cyrus. He exhibited a consistent life from beginning to the end, he was virtuous from young age to old age.

As a believer in Christ  today, do you have the same integrity Daniel possessed?, God expects us to live in integrity and so does Christ.

We can't claim to be identified with Christ and our character before God and with men cannot be proved or justified. Always  remember God looks at the heart while man looks at the outward appearance.

Check you life today and make amends where necessary. God bless you.
