Holy Spirit Baptism
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Baptism with the Holy Spirit is an empowering experience, equipping Spirit-filled believers for witness and ministry.
Through the baptism in the Holy Spirit, God extends His power and the blessing of His presence to all believers. Our role is to receive. This baptism is marked by an initial act of receiving and continues as a daily response of receiving what God has made available for our service and relationship with Him.
The first Holy Spirit baptism took place at the upper room according to the instructions given by Christ before accession. Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
The manifestation of the Holy Spirit in them transformed their whole life and redefined their way of life among fellow humans and their worship to God.
Contrary to water baptism, In water baptism, you are being baptized in the Name of Jesus, with the purpose of burying the old life of sin. In the baptism in the Holy Spirit, the believer is being baptized in the Holy Spirit, with the purpose of being clothed with power for witnessing and service for God.
A person may have a physical baptism which is immersion in water without a change of character and behaviour of the old self, such person may still be locked up with temptations to sin, but holy spirit baptism is a refining fire that burns the old nature of sin away and puts a new spirit with divine guidance for everyday life in his/her walk with Christ.
In other to be baptised in the Holy Ghost, you must humble yourself before God, desire to be baptized, come forth with a broken hearts and contrite spirits, Repent of all your sins, be willing to take upon you the name of Christ and Have a determination to serve Christ to the end.
Many claim to be filled weekly, but if there is no desire to serve God and there is no fruit, such baptism is not from God. If we are truly receiving the power from the Holy Spirit, it will point us to service and truth
The purpose of the Holy spirit baptism is for the service of the Gospel, witnessing Christ through the working of His power. To them he gave the grace to manifest the signs of the gifts of the spirit, insomuch that in Christ name they will cast out devils, speaks in new tongues, raise the dead and heal the sick.
Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Have you been baptised yet in the Holy Ghost?, you can't be baptised and still live in the old nature of sin. You can't be baptised and still exhibit the lust of the flesh and the affections of this world.
Being baptised in the Holy Spirit is being cleaved to God in the spirit becoming one with him.
Get baptised in the Holy Ghost today and experience a new dimension of the power of the living God.
