The Lord's Prayer

Matthew  6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name...

Prayer is the channel through which you connect to the spirit realm, it is a medium through which we communicate to God where we express our desires and we receive His desires in return.

As much as we connect with God through prayer, many has found it difficult to receive from God, mainly because we are ignorance of the rules guiding  praying  to God.

A disciple acknowledged his ignorance of how to  accurately pray to God, so he seek wisdom and  beckoned on Christ to know how to pray.  Matthew  6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.  6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.  6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.  6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

But in the countrary, many of us failed in understanding the pattern through which the Christ gave in the Lord's prayer which can grantee our prayers being answered by God.

The understanding is given below.

1. Our father which art in heaven.

The Lord said in John  10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine., it is possible for any sheep to follow any shepherd, but the shepherd knows his own sheep.

We can all claim to be God's children on earth, but how many are recognised by God as His own children.. If then God is not your father, which father in heaven are you praying to?, obviously could be your ancestors... Prayers become answered when God hears the voice of his own children and not the voice of a stranger.

2. Hallow be thy name..

Exodus  20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

The prayers from the mouth of those who fail to honour the name of God can never be answered... It is a sin to call the name of God in vain or to dishonour it....  Many finds pleasure in dishonouring the name of God through their characters and  behaviour. if you fail to hallow the name of God, your prayers will be hindered.

3. Thy kingdom come
Romans  14:16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of:  14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Many believed the kingdom of God is the rapture when Christ shall reign again... But it is the righteousness, peace and joy in the holy ghost that must fill our heart as we live our life daily.. This will become the foreshadow of the kingdom to come in God's reign.

We keep asking his kingdom to come, yet we harbour hatred, greediness, resentment, hypocrisy, immoralities etc in our heart where the kingdom of God should have dwelt. Our prayers will only become the barking of a dog in His ears.

4. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Before we can ever make our request known to God, we must first accept His will, His purpose and desires for our life. His will comes first before whatever we would want to become in life.
His will is made known in his words, visions, dreams and from the mouth of His prophets

5.  Give us this day our daily bread.

God gives only what is sufficient for the day, by His wisdom to guide our contentment, gluttony and pride, some are expected to pray for a daily bread, but their heart desires for a bakery, not for the glory of God but for the oppression of others. Their prayers may not be answered.

Most time God doesn't give what we want, but always supply our need.. And when it becomes that our prayers of want is not answered, we become disappointed and assume God doesn't answer prayers... No. He does, we are the one that pray amis.
James  4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

6. forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors...

This phrase has become hindrance to many people's prayer, they fail to forgive in their heart and expect God to forgive them... But the phrase says God should forgive only if we forgive others, so if we fail to forgive others we should never expect God's forgiveness.. How then can we receive the mercy and grace of God if we become unqualified for the forgiveness of God.?...

Our prayer becomes delayed today, not because God is not powerful enough to answer but because we are binded by the code of conduct of the lord's prayers.

Check your life and see where you are missing it. God answer prayers... Yesterday, today and days to come.

God bless you.

Prayer key:

2. Lord, forgive me for all my misconduct against your will that make me think you do not answer prayers.

3. Lord, help me to live righteously in you for the days of my life in Jesus Christ name.

4. Thank you Lord for answered prayers in Jesus Christ name.
