The heart of Man
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 17:10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
In the Bible, the heart is considered the seat of life or strength. Hence, it means mind, soul, spirit, or one's entire emotional nature and understanding.
God created man in his own likeness full of righteousness and holiness, but the moment satan deceived man, his heart becomes corrupted and filled with evil.
God repented at a time that He created man, because all a man could think everyday is desperately evil... Genesis 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
The heart of man can be deceiving, it can give a smiling face yet, it harbor evil secretly... Just like Cain who deceived his brother to the failed for the purpose of killing him... Because his sacrifice was not acceptable...Genesis 4:8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
They may have had a wonderful communication while on their way, they may have laughed and cracked jokes together, but the innocent Abel didn't know that will be the end of his life. The heart of man is desperately evil.
Judas Iscariot, one of the disciples who enjoyed first class relationship and communication with Christ Jesus betrayed Him for thirty pieces of silver. Who would have thought that Christ' closest associate has a bittered heart with Him, and trade Him for money?... Those you call your friend may be your chief enemy... They may smile at you and comfort you when you are sad, but they may be the root of your sadness and predicament.
God said in Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 17:10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
He searches the heart of every man... God is not moved by our outer show of love and affections towards Him and to fellow human, but take cognisance of our inner disposition which is what reside in our heart.
No matter how you deceive man, you can never deceive God..
You appear friendly to people, but your heart is bitter about them, you are not happy with their success and greatness but only appear hypocritically before them...
whatever you think in your heart against people is exactly what God will reward you with..
Change your way of life and let God purify your heart so good thoughts will spring out of it. Humble yourself before God and pray for forgiveness.
