Christ Witnesses

Acts  1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

A witness is a person who sees an event, typically a crime or accident, take place. it is someone who can adequately document an event just as it happens.

The disciples was about to see Christ taken up to heaven, and He gave them this commission that, they will be His witness throughout Jerusalem, judea, Samaria and the rest of the world.

They have had cordial relationship with Christ throughout his ministerial journey, crucification and resurrection, and all this experiences must become their message anywhere they find themselves.

The same commission given to the disciples to be witnesses is also given to anyone who has identified themselves with Christ and has chosen Him as their lord and personal saviour..

We may not physically have evidences of the life and death of Christ while He was on earth, but we become His witness in so many other ways.

1. In His teaching
Matthew  28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

The teaching of the Lord Jesus Christ was passed from age to ages, first by the apostles then to the early church, this same teaching was documented as the word of the living God which is available for our consumption today.

By living according to the teaching, and also teaching others in the same, we become witnesses of the Christ that came to this world, crucified and resurrected the third day.

2. In power and grace
Mark  16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Christ was full of the power and grace of God while in earth, through it He command healing, deliverance, miracles, signs and wonders in many places... This same power was given to the apostles which gave them the privilege to manifest the same power Just as Jesus did.

The same power is given to anyone who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ and received the commissioning of the Holy spirit...

3.. In His suffering
Matthew  10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

In His suffering, we bear His mark on us day in day out....
Galatians  6:17 From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.
But we  do not bear the mark of Christ on us for the sake of protection alone, but for an evidence that we  have suffered with Him and have been crucified with Him.

4. In His death

2 Corinthians  5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

No one who has not been crucified with Christ cannot become his witness, being crucified with Christ is to be dead to sin, nailing the old nature, the flesh and it's works on the cross and becoming alive with a new nature in Christ Jesus.

Our new life in Christ and experiences of his death becomes our message to the world we witness to.

5. Ultimately in his glory.
Matthew  10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

Whoever that can witness  Christ here on heart will definitely be identified by Christ before God in eternity.

You cannot claim to be Christ witness without experiencing his  divine nature which is evidence in his teaching, his suffering which is evidence in us being Persecuted every day, his death, having forsaken the nature of sin and the affection of this world, and ultimately, having the boldness to confess Christ as Lord before everyone without being shameful.

These are the life of a true witness of Christ.

Today, are you a witness of Christ?

God bless you.
