Do not forget your Source

1 Kings  2:3 And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:

The universe and the unseen world was created by God, man and other creatures inclusive, we survive by the works of His hands, and so He is the source of all things we can ever be.

After the fall of man, He still became the source of our redemption, in which He gave His only begotten son to die for our sins that by this, we can jointly be reunited with Him in a life of incorruptible.

Any river that forget its source will definitely seize to exist, King David was about to travel to the World beyond, He called his son Solomon who is to succeed after him and gave him the words of wisdom he needed in other to succeed being a king just as he did.

1 Kings  2:1 Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,  2:2 I go the way of all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and shew thyself a man;  2:3 And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:

King david recognises God as the source of his strength, power, fame and victory in all of his life, this he want Solomon to acknowledge too so he can end well. He was so much concern if Solomon would live in obedience to the will of God. It is expedient that obedience to God would guarantee that the descendant of Solomon would continue to reign on the throne.

Truthfully, Solomon started with God, by acknowledging Him as the source of wisdom and wealth.. He journey with God for a while but at the long run, his heart was turned away to worshipping idols.  He forgot God the source of his wisdom and wealth, His heart was turned away by the numerous wives he acquire.

Starting a journey with God is not actually a success yet, but ending the journey with Him.

God has given you everything pertaining to life, living and godliness, but do you still maintain the standard of God's holiness and righteousness as in the begining?

God has given you gifts of different kinds, grace for ministry, wealth, fame and power, but are you still connected to the source through whom you acquire all you have?

Are you still in God, just as you were with Him in the begin?, have you not cut your cross so it can be light to carry?, are you not tired of the rugged road of salvation and faith God is taking you through?,  no one ever forgets God get to the destination.

Samson forgot the source of his strength, he knew not when the Lord departed from him. The result was a death of shame. Judges  16:20 And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.

Many ministers of the Gospel today have forgotten the source of their calling, power, gifts and fame. Though people still see them as powerful men of God, though their gifts still works wonders but God the source of all has departed from them a long time ago.

If you forget God in all you are doing, He will surely depart from you unnoticed... This will give room to the devil to torment your life and drag you away from the reach of God's saving grace.

Check your life today and examine where you have departed from your source of life, come back to him before you dry up like a tree whose roots have been cut off.

God bless you.
