Failure is a Gain

Joshua  7:13 Up, sanctify the people, and say, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow: for thus saith the LORD God of Israel, There is an accursed thing in the midst of thee, O Israel: thou canst not stand before thine enemies, until ye take away the accursed thing from among you.

Failure is a lack of success that we experience day in day out, it is evidently clear that there is virtually limited people who has never failed, if not once or twice in life.

Though many sees failure as setback and a waste of time and resources, yet it is a means to prepare again more consciously. Failure is not the end of the road, but just a flat tyre of our vehicle in the journey of  life.

Joshua was the successor of moses whom God choose to lead the children of Israel to the promise land. On getting to Jericho, he sent men to spy the land of Ai so as to conquer it, but didn't know someone has sinned against God by taking the consecrated things which the Lord hate with him.   This act brought about an unimaginable defeat and failure at the war front.

As being defeated and lamenting, despite trusting God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob for victory, God opened his eyes to see the reason for his failure and defeat. Joshua  7:10 And the LORD said unto Joshua, Get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face?  7:11 Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff.

Though he fell, but God made him to understand his reason for failure, he was defeated, but not totally destroyed.... His failure brought Shame, but it was a means for a come back to a greater victory.

The failure made him to understand someone had sinned in the camp

The failure brought about a more committment to God and His laws.  His latter victory over the land of Ai was an added medal  to his medal list...

Failure is not the end of life, it is not a destination of life to be full of regret for, but a means to preparer more excellently.

When you fail, it does not mean that you should give up on yourself and stop trying.  No. It only means that you need the Lord to show you where you are missing it and  the next step forward, just like He did with Joshua.

When you fail, it does not mean that God has abandoned you and left you alone. No. It only means that God has a much better plan for you to discover and fulfill.

We must not be afraid to fail because failure is part of spiritual growth or Christian maturity.

Failure is a gain if you take time to understand why you failed and work on your mistakes.

God bless you.
