He who loveth instructions
Proverbs 12:1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
The book of Proverbs is filled with practical wisdom, and in this verse, we are reminded of the immeasurable worth of instruction. Instruction refers to guidance, correction, and discipline that come from various sources, including God's Word, godly mentors, and our own life experiences. It is through instruction that we gain knowledge, wisdom, and understanding of God's ways.
To truly benefit from instruction, we must cultivate a love for it. Love for instruction goes beyond a mere passive acceptance or tolerance. It is an active desire to seek knowledge and grow in wisdom.
When we love instruction, we approach it with humility, recognizing that we have much to learn. It requires an open heart and a willingness to receive correction and guidance, even when it challenges our preconceived notions or convicts us of our shortcomings.
QThose who love instruction are not foolish but wise. They recognize that their knowledge is limited and that true wisdom comes from God. As we embrace instruction with love, several transformative blessings manifest in our lives:
a. Knowledge and Understanding: Through instruction, we gain knowledge and understanding of God's principles, His character, and His will for our lives. We grow in wisdom and discernment, making sound choices that honor God and bless others.
b. Character Development: Instruction molds and refines our character. It exposes areas in our lives that require correction and transformation. It shapes us into individuals of integrity, humility, and godliness. Instruction helps us align our lives with the values of God's kingdom.
c. Spiritual Growth: Instruction nourishes our spiritual growth. It deepens our relationship with God and strengthens our faith. As we learn more about God's Word and His ways, we draw closer to Him and experience His presence in our lives.
d. Guidance and Protection: Instruction serves as a compass, guiding us through life's challenges and uncertainties. It helps us navigate difficult decisions, avoid pitfalls, and resist the temptations that could lead us astray.
Rise who heed to God's instructions in the scripture all succeeded in all they do. If we want to succeeded spiritually and physically, we must be ready to adhere to God's instruction for our life.
As we do so, we will experience the transformative power of instruction in our lives, shaping our character, deepening our faith, and empowering us to live as wise and faithful disciples of Christ.
