The risk in delaying God's command

Psalms  119:60 I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments.

Our God is a God of time and precision, whatever He says must be done without procrastination or delay, as we have been saved through the death of Christ Jesus, our totality must be subjected to God's will and commandment, this He made known through His words and prophecies.

Mark  1:16 Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.  1:17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.  1:18 And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.

The story above was the first call of Jesus Christ to the disciples who would just be recruited to be Apostles, He said to them, "follow me". This was a command with authority, yet the recipient responded in the affirmative without thinking of what will be the aftermath, they left their careers, left their family, left their home and follow the one who own all they have, both life and death.

When God commands  us to any exercise of obedience it is never to be pondered. It is to be obeyed without question or delay. No matter how foolish the command may be, no matter how unreasonable it may look, all He wants from us is our quickness to response, our diligent to obedience and our faith to work it out.

Jesus gives us an uncomfortable illustration in the lives of some “would be disciples.” They were ready to follow Jesus, but not immediately and according to their time tables. Jesus responds with “No. You cannot set conditions on My call to follow Me. Nor will I allow any excuses, even ones that seem to be legitimate

Luke  9:57 And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.  9:58 And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.  9:59 And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.  9:60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.  9:61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.  9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

There were some whom God had commanded to obedience but they have given  God excuses, they prioritise their desire more than the will of God, they nullify the timing of God and establish their own time table.

Some wish to follow Christ but not willing to sacrifice their desires, in marriage, career, pleasures of this world, their family among others.

But the risk that involves in delaying God's command is enormous.

1. Lost of God's presence.

When we delay God's command in our life we suffer spiritual laxity, we lose His presence, The things of God become routine and our desires for prayer, the Word, church, and spiritual service are quenched.

2. We lose His blessings.

Every of God's command in our life comes with its blessing if we are able to responsible immediately when He calls, but when we delay His commands, so also is our blessings delayed, because the timing God had set over the fulfilment of His command had pass.

3. We grow to become disobedient

When we delay God's commands and instructions in our life, we automatically become disobedient to Him, we may claim to be His own, but our delay in fulfilling His command has made us become His enemy. By this the devil takes over the wheal of our life and will never stop until he has arrived Hell.

What command has God given you but you are still delaying in your life? , what instruction has He given but you choose to ignore?,  what journey has He told you to go but you refuse due to difficulties on the way?, what sacrifice of faith has He told you to make but you find it difficult to do, the word is coming to you now to repent and heed to His call,

The more you delay God's command in your life, the more you delay His manifestation, blessings and breakthrough in your life.

God back to God and make amends.. It is never too late.

God bless you.
