A bold step of faith
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, whoever that will walk perfectly with God must be ready to exercise faith in Him
Becoming a follower of Christ and serving God diligently doesn't mean everything will go as we planned it, or the instructions He will give will always tally with our common knowledge. Most of His instructions and steps to be taken sometimes will look foolish to man, and unreasonable to our Understanding
But if you must achieve the best in God, you must be ready to take a bold step of faith that is contrary to the opinion and intellectual Understanding of man, taking a bold step of faith is foolishness in reality but the end is always miracle.
Let us consider the life of David before Goliahat
1 Samuel 17:32 And David said to Saul, Let no man's heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.
This story could have been a fantasy if not for the numerous facts recorded in the scripture.
David was just seventeen years of age, a shepherd when he was speaking boldly before king Saul at the war front. The Israelite had done their best in wining the war but they have become fainted and weak.
Yet Goliahat request a general of the army of Israel be presented so they can contest, but king Saul the war commander could not find any out of His many generals.
Goliahat was a solder from childhood, who has built his enormous prestige in war tactics and weapon handling, his track record of not loosing any war always create fear in the heart of his enemies.
The whole army of Israel trembled by the fear of Goliath, yet God needed someone who will take a bold step of faith and contest with Goliath, but none could present himself, even King Saul the commander-in-chief could not withstand the fear.
But only David a shepherd, with the fear of God, establish the faith in God and come boldly before king saul and said "And David said to Saul, Let no man's heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine" (1Samuel 17:32)
This looks very foolish to man, but with God all things are possible, David moved, took a step of faith, walk up to Saul and convince him of what the power of God can do, and he was able to go before Goliahat, confront him in battle and was able to win.
You can never win the battle of life if you are not willing to take the bold step of faith, you cannot reach your zenithal if you are not willing to take the bold step of faith.
Naaman too the the bold step of faith to wash in the river Jordan, after complaining of how dirty the river was, but after washing, he was made whole.
The Israelite took the bold step of faith before the wall of Jericho, by walking around it and shouting, this was like madness before the people of Jericho, but at the end, there was victory.
What instruction is God giving you today that negate your human understanding? Don't be afraid, take the step of faith and expect God in action.
Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
God will always show you the way to your success, but it is you that must take the bold step of faith and walk towards it before achieving your deliverance and breakthrough, it may not look appeasing and comfortable to man, but it is the channel to your blessing in God.
Take the bold step of faith today, and you will never be disappointed.
God bless you.
