Food for Birthright (The costly Exchange)
Proverbs 1:10 My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent.
An exchange is a marketplace where securities, commodities, derivatives and other financial instruments are traded., sometimes goods can be traded for money and in other hand, goods can be traded for goods.
A costly exchange is the trading that incur great lose to the trader. The life of Esau will first be considered, who traded away his birthright for a plate of food.
Genesis 25:29-34 Now Jacob cooked a stew; and Esau came in from the field, and he was weary. And Esau said to Jacob, “Please feed me with that same red stew, for I am weary.” Therefore his name was called Edom. But Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright as of this day.” And Esau said, “Look, I am about to die; so what is this birthright to me?” Then Jacob said, “Swear to me as of this day.” So he swore to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob. And Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; then he ate and drank, arose, and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.
Esau was dead hungry and needed food, there is no one to go to except His twin brother, being confident in family, he thought the food would come freely, but his brother was not kind enough to the point of asking for a trade, food for birthright, food for glory.
Esau didn't think twice, he rather wish to lose a future glory for a plate of food whose pleasure last for few minutes.
The fact that Esau did not appreciate the significance of the birthright that was due the firstborn is manifested in the fact that he counted the birthright of less value than a plate of porridge.
He traded a nation with God's blessing for a bowl of soup. His attitude thus disqualified him from being the father of a nation through whom God would bring the Messiah into the world.
What food have you been offered that has taken away your God given destiny?
In like manner Samson traded God's power in His life, for the beauty of a woman.
Judges 14:3Then his father and mother said to him, “Is there no woman among the daughters of your brethren, or among all my people, that you must go and get a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?” And Samson said to his father, “Get her for me, for she pleases me well.”
Samson being a nazareth of God, endowed with supernatural power and raised to be a judge in Israel fell lustfully with the beauty of Delilah, He considered the power, anointing and grace of God upon his life of less value to a beauty that can fade away. He lost his life for it. What a costly exchange.
Today, have you not exchange your God given destiny, glory and purpose in life for sexual immorality that its pleasure only last for a few minute?
Many ministers of the gospel has traded away their ministry for sexual sin, some for fame, others for entertainment, while some for riches of this world
Some has traded away their God given home that Suppose to bring forth kingdom generations for the pleasures on the blossom of the daughters of jezebel
Proverbs 1:10 My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent. There will always be enticement from the devil coming your ways in a bid to have you traded your God given glory away.
Sometimes, satanic traders will disguise as angel of light, their offer will be mouthwatering, goodly looking and pleasing to have, yet what you will lose will be greater than what you are being offered.
Many daughters of God has been deceived into wrong marriages through the so called "brothers in the Lord " but are wolves in sheep clothing.
2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.
Have you not traded your glory away also?
Above all, some have traded away their salvation for the pleasures of this world, they have sold their soul to the devil in an exchange for powers, knowledge, fame and wealth of this world, it is the most costly exchange any man can make.
Whatever you have traded away can be redeemed back by the precious blood of Christ Jesus and salvation in Him.
Come to Him today, and have your glory back.
Whatever the devil give to you in an exchange for your glory, destiny or purpose in life can never last, and it will make you lose your place in the kingdom of God.
Tomorrow may be too late, if you die today, there is no remedy. Now is the time.
