The author and finisher of all
Day2: Becoming the master's use
2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
Yesterday we started a series titled "The author and finisher of all", this implies that God is the source and end of all things, He plans and make things happen at His own will, His actions and decree are unquestionable. We understand God as the potter, He makes us to whatever He want.
Today we will be looking at "Becoming the master's use", as a clay in the potter's hand, God mold us into different vessels of His choice, He makes one vessel for special purposes and another for common purposes, simply out of his sovereign choice—based on no merit of the person.
But in 2Timothy 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. , the opportunity to be used or not used is based on our actions. We can all be used by God; however, the extent and the degree of our usage is up to us.
There are many people in the scriptures who are greatly used by God for special purposes, some in the military (Jephthah), some in the government (Joseph), some on the ministry (Apostle Paul) some as rulers (King David), and many more, God divinely chose them for a special ministry, but they also made decisions that enabled them to be special vessels.
2 Timothy 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
Your availability and personal decision will either make you a vessel onto honour or vessel unto dishonour. God has made you to be a vessel, but the degree of your usage rest in your hands.
Qualification of becoming master's use.
1. Remove the dross from your life
2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
Dross are worthless things, rubbish or impurity that covers the metal, it renders the metal useless until it is purged out of the impurities. Just like gold is refined in fire in other to remove the dross, so also your life must be purged of impurities like sin and works of the flesh before you can become a vessel unto honour worthy of master's use.
Some dross are life desires, what you value more than the will of God in your life, some are ungodly friends and relationships, they will only make you useless before God.
God has fashioned you in such a way you can become the best in life and in him, he has mold you to a great piece, but the dross you attached with your life makes you useless and unworthy for Him.
2., Present yourself to be used.
God will not force anyone into His service, this service is not limited to being called by God into the ministry, you can be used by God as a leader in the sphere of government, you can be useful to God in overseeing the economy of the nation,.. God wants people who will live according to His heart and desire
You must be willing to answer His call when the time comes, Moses was noticed by God and He called him, he separated himself from the pleasure of the Palace and present himself for the master's use, He was willing, we was ready despite all odds, he gave his life fully for the service of God.
Joseph in the other hand was called by God to oversea the economy of Egypt, he removed the dross of Potiphar's wife and presented himself to God. he was greatly used.
Many were called by God, but they bounced the call back on God, He is not at loss, you are, and only making yourself useless and worthless before Him.
The generation of this age is changing, God is raising those that will represent Him in the coming generation, in government, influence, power, wealth, economy and ministry, but are you worthy of becoming master's use?
Check your life today, don't be a useless vessel... Brace yourself up, shake the dross away and present yourself for the master's use.
God is calling...answer the call.
God bless you.
