Having the knowledge of Him

John  8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Our God is a well of wisdom and full of mystery that human knowledge may find difficult to decipher, yet God himself have pleasure in us that we should know more about Him as we walk with Him.

If we should be asked if we we know God, many would randomly respond in the affirmative, but in the real sense we have no knowledge or idea of who He really is, we may claim to believe in Him or have heard of of Him, but do we actually have a personal intimate relationship with Him?

God desires we seek Him, study Him and know more about Him, this will guarantee our growth and confidence in whom we claim to believe. The knowledge about God is the secret of true success it is the source of wisdom that is  beyond our understanding, it is the strength we are endowed with  to endure in hard times.

It is the one thing that should demand our constant attention and the focus of our lives. It is of more value than power or position...yet nothing is more needed in the life of any believer  today than the  knowledge of God.

The lack of the knowledge of God brought about many misconception of the different doctrines and teachings in our churches today,  wavering spirituality...inconsistency between the walk and the talk of believers...ineffectiveness in prayer...and even social righteousness and the way we act towards others,  many try to formulate who God is and His acts through the intellectual Understanding of man yet we are still in the darkness of the true Knowledge of God.

For us to have the full knowledge of God we must first creat a platform for intimacy. When God created Adam and Eve, He seeks intimacy, a deeper relationship than just friend, so He will descend from His throne and have a communion with man, when there was no sin.

An intimacy with God is giving God our wholeness and concentration, it requires that we open our innermost being to Him, while He reveals His innermost nature to us.

Abraham created an intimacy with God and God confirms in His heart an assurance of teaching his children His ways and commands Genesis  18:19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

The second way of having the knowledge of God is to be fully obedient to His commands and words. The journey of our life is a spiritual walk with God, a process that proceeds another, in this, He gives instructions we must follow at each level, that by this He will keep unveiling His mystery to us and we become fully grown in His knowledge.

Being totally obedient to God opens the door of God's treasury of wisdom, knowledge and understanding of the God of the universe.

Moses thought he had knowledge about God, he thought he has fully understood God, via his experiences from the burning Bush, to seeing the glory of God, at a point he asked God to remove his name from the book of life because of his passion for the children of Israel, yet he was disappointed when he didn't obey the command of God fully.

His disobedience unveiled another side of God to moses, he pleaded to see the promise land but God refuse... Obedience unveils the knowledge of God.

How do we have the knowledge of God?

1. Through His words.

The words and manifestation of the moves of God recorded in the scriptures unveils the nature, character and knowledge of God. From generation to generations God has kept consistent His communication with men, these men walked with God with the whole of their life.

Meditating and making use of the words gives us more Understanding of the knowledge of God. Joshua  1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

2. Through the Character of Christ

Colossians  1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:  1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

By studying the character of Christ from His life on earth reveals another dimension of God which differs a little with what was experienced in the old testament, in Christ we the understanding of God's love, grace, longsuffering, and mercy

Accepting Christ and walking according to His divine teachings will make us grow in the knowledge of God.

Having the knowledge of God is accepting His will for our life, surrendering our totality to Him, and let Him take over the wheal of our life.

Giving your life to the leadership of the Holy spirit is another medium to have the full knowledge of God. John  14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Do you truly know God?

Hosea  4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Our lack of the knowledge of God makes us void of the divine manifesting of His power in our life.

God is more than what you think you know, give yourself to the word, Christ, holy spirit, fasting and prayer, and you will not be void of the knowledge of God.

God bless you.
