God cannot be mocked

Galatians  6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. The God we serve is a just God, nothing is hidden before Him and everything we do here on earth, either secret or open to men are all open before Him.  As man sinned against God, we become unstable in measuring up to His standard even after our salvation has been perfected on the cross, so in a bid to appear godly before men, we live a deceitful life, trying to act as a real believer before men but in the secret we are far away from God, by this we mock God.   Matthew  15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.  15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. We mock God when we think we can please Him through our deceptive religiosity, their lips proclaim the goodness and righteousness of God, but their heart is full of evil and far away from the truth of God.  They b

Food for Birthright (The costly Exchange)

Proverbs 1:10 My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent. An exchange is a marketplace where securities, commodities, derivatives and other financial instruments are traded., sometimes goods can be traded for money and in other hand, goods can be traded for goods.  A costly exchange is the trading that incur great lose to the trader. The life of Esau will first be considered, who traded away his birthright for a plate of food.  Genesis 25:29-34 Now Jacob cooked a stew; and Esau came in from the field, and he was weary. And Esau said to Jacob, “Please feed me with that same red stew, for I am weary.” Therefore his name was called Edom. But Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright as of this day.” And Esau said, “Look, I am about to die; so what is this birthright to me?” Then Jacob said, “Swear to me as of this day.” So he swore to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob. And Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; then he ate and drank, arose, and went his way. Thus Esau despised his b

Self Discipline

Mark  9:43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:  Self discipline is the ability to control yourself and to make yourself work hard or behave in a particular way without needing anyone else to tell you what to do,  You exercise self discipline if  there is a goal you want to accomplish, but you just can’t seem to follow through? Maybe you know exactly what you need to do, but just can’t seem to do it? Maybe there is a standard you need to set, but your weakness seems to be an obstacle.  Self discipline is the ability to exercise power over one's self and the ability to put one's self under control.  Being saved in Christ gives  us a new nature of righteousness and holiness which makes us walk through the journey to eternal life.  Though we have been aligned with Christ and not of this world again, but we are still in the world, this makes us not

Your altar, God's Abode

1 Corinthians  3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? God does not only dwell in heaven where His throne resides, but when His son came to earth and ascended to Heaven, His spirit came down and dwell with men, it does not only reside in church buildings but in our heart At the moment we accept Christ as our Lord and personal saviour an altar is raised in our heart, which becomes the abode of God   by this we carry the kingdom of God in us. As much as our heart, our altar becomes the abode of God, we must continue the principles of His kingdom in our life 1 Corinthians  3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?  3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. The altar where God abide must never be defiled, but in resent days many has defiled the altar, God's abode, and the Lord has departed,  the altar of Go

Faithless Generation

Hebrews  11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. It is the medium through which we can have a cordial relationship with God. As much as God is spirit whom cannot be seen, His manifestation is evidence in the life of those who trust and have faith in Him. It was through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. It was By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.   It was through  faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pl

God's disappointment in Man

Genesis  6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. Before the creation of man, God sort for a new set of beings, different from the angels and heavenly beings. He was so eager to creat this people called man, to extend His kingdom and to manifest His power in another universe. Genesis  1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. He was so determined that He created them in His own very image and likeness to govern and to dominate the new kingdom earth He has just created. Man was given everything he would need for total survival including the free will to do what pleases him. But God was first disappointed wh

Having the knowledge of Him

John  8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Our God is a well of wisdom and full of mystery that human knowledge may find difficult to decipher, yet God himself have pleasure in us that we should know more about Him as we walk with Him.  If we should be asked if we we know God, many would randomly respond in the affirmative, but in the real sense we have no knowledge or idea of who He really is, we may claim to believe in Him or have heard of of Him, but do we actually have a personal intimate relationship with Him?  God desires we seek Him, study Him and know more about Him, this will guarantee our growth and confidence in whom we claim to believe. The knowledge about God is the secret of true success it is the source of wisdom that is  beyond our understanding, it is the strength we are endowed with  to endure in hard times. It is the one thing that should demand our constant attention and the focus of our lives. It is of more value than power or positi

Reward of Unrighteousness

Romans  1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Unrighteousness is failure to adhere to moral principles, it is a free moral negative reaction to the will of God. Unrighteousness is knowing the truth but chose to tell lies, it is being deceitful in manners of behaviour, character and our relationship with fellow men   Our God is a righteous and truthful God so Unrighteousness is a sin before Him  which shall not go unpunished  1 John  5:17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death. There is no doubt that unrighteousness has crept into our spiritual system and our relationship with God, many has classified unrighteous as an act of being smart or being wise, some at the expense of another man's peace, joy and happiness, but because we wanted to satisfy our burning desire we care less about others and God.  There is no sin without its punishment, unrighteousness inc

Standing on the solid Rock

Isaiah  28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. There was a time I was opportune to oversea the construction of a building project, working with the architect and the structure engineer, I was overwhelmed by the detailed instructions followed while erecting the foundation and the building.  Foundation, being the determinant of the strength of the house must never be joke with, apart from following the detailed instructions in the structural plan, the owner of the building added an instruction that, enough materials should be used to maintain a very strong foundation and  building.  Believe me, more than enough was used, it was even as if the materials were  being wasted.  But the owner said, it is better to follow the detailed instruction in the approval and  use more than enough materials  and have a rest of mind latter, than not followed

The hope in Redemption

John  10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Redemption is the action of saving or being saved from sin, error, or evil,  man had first been enslaved by the devil after sinning against God, we lose Everything God had first given us, including our authority and our  place with Him. Our life has been with pain and sorrow.  But God who desires our freedom prepared a redemption plan in Christ Jesus, that in His death and resurrection we will be free from the bondage of sin and death, and our life will have a total turnaround of peace and joy in whom has created us for His glory.  Ephesians  1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; The redemption we receive in God through Christ does not only free us from the bondage of sin alone, but also reposition us to who we are created to be in God, and also make a

The rejected Sacrifice

1 Samuel  15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. After the sin of man, God has placed man on sacrifice in other to meet up His divine standard, these  sacrifices are to bridge the gap between Him and us, to  profess our faith,  love and total dependant on Him.  The mode, manner, motive, and items of our sacrifices determines its acceptability before Him... In the old testament, it is easy to know if a sacrifice is acceptable or not immediately it has been offered  Such was the case of Cain and Abel, both offered sacrificial offerings unto God in thier best capacity in appreciation of what God has done for them. But immediately the sacrifice was offered, both knew which was accepted and which was rejected.  Genesis  4:4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to

A given Authority

Philippians  2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:  2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;  2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. After the creation, God gave man all authority to rule over the earth, but satan came through deceptive means to robb off the authority from man, and ever since then man has been living in the bondage of sin under the authority of satan  But God being full of mercy and grace made a way whereby man can have the authority back, Christ  came as the sacrificial lamb for the redemption, He perfected the works on the cross and said it is finished.. At His resurrection all power and authority was give back to Him and as we have him in our life as Lord and saviour we have the full authority in us too.  Many believers do not realize they posses this authority which

The importance of extra oil

Matthew  25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them  The  parable in this text is a great deal for our understanding of the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ,   Matthew  25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. There were ten virgins, they were all qualified to meet the bridegroom, they all passed the test of selection, all of them  have not defiled themselves with the things of the world, thy Understand the purpose of being pure till the bridegroom comes, so they all set out to meet their joy and everlasting happiness.  Matthew  25:2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.  25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But then, there is a little difference between the ten virgins,  five were  recognised to be wise and five to be foolish, their being  wise was as a result of them  to have taken extra oil in their vessel, while

The return of evil

Galatians  6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. The world we live in is full of evil, this originates from the sin of man in the garden of Eden and transcend to Every other offerings of man, Cain the first offering was full of evil and hate till he succeeded in murdering his only brother, though was done in secret but God returned the evil he did back to him.. Judgment was pronounced upon him.  Genesis  4:11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;  4:12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth. In recent time we tend to appear godly yet, the intent of our heart is continually evil everyday, wickedness, greediness, hatred and envy has filled our heart and the devil continually use us as a tool to populate the occupant of hell. Proverbs  22:8 He that soweth ini

The risk in delaying God's command

Psalms  119:60 I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments. Our God is a God of time and precision, whatever He says must be done without procrastination or delay, as we have been saved through the death of Christ Jesus, our totality must be subjected to God's will and commandment, this He made known through His words and prophecies. Mark  1:16 Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.  1:17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.  1:18 And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him. The story above was the first call of Jesus Christ to the disciples who would just be recruited to be Apostles, He said to them, "follow me". This was a command with authority, yet the recipient responded in the affirmative without thinking of what will be the aftermath, they left their careers, left their family, left their home and f

The kingdom of God in You

Day 2 : His Will for mankind Matthew  6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Yesterday we started a series titled  THE KINGDOM OF GOD IN YOU, and we were made to understand that the kingdom of God is not a physical kingdom that will be established newly here in earth but the very kingdom He has established in our heart through His son Jesus Christ and the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. His kingdom is that of righteousness and holiness which must find expression in our daily life,  this must transcends into our character, behaviour, and our relationship with fellow men. Today the Lord wil be taking us through the topic HIS WILL FOR MANKIND The establishment of His kingdom in our heart comes with its presets, Kingdom principles and rules, one  of these  is the blueprint of His will for everyone. This becomes unveiled as we walk and work with Him. His will for mankind is that everyone may be saved into His eternal kingdom, this can be achieved when

The kingdom of God in you

Day1: His reign over man:  Luke  17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:  17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. This is a new series that will take two days, and the theme is THE KINGDOM OF GOD IN YOU,   Many of us do not understand the nature of the kingdom of God,  we do resit the lord's prayer without taking consideration of the section which says 'Thy kingdom come'  just like the pharisees who do not understand the nature of the kingdom  who asked from their understanding that the kingdom of God would be a physical kingdom of this world where Israel would enjoy prosperity and national sovereignty.  They thus asked this question because they had misunderstood Jesus's previous teachings concerning the nature of the kingdom. They were here possibly seeking for a sign of the coming of the k

God, the giver of hope and life

Romans  15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. The God we serve is life all by Himself even before the existence began, this life he gave unto us after making  us from clay, breath His spirit into us and we became a living being, this same life he continue to give in our everyday life through divine providence, good health and safety among others.  But this life God gave became obstructed by satan and gave us death, pain, lack and trouble  through sin. He is never happier than when he sees people giving in and giving up to despair and becoming lost in hopelessness. Have you ever felt like your whole world is caving in around you and there is absolutely no hope. Your troubles seem to mount up, there is hope for the hopeless.  Situations sometimes look very  bad. If ever there is a time that we need a breakthrough, I think it is right now If ever there was a time that we need a word from the

The author and finisher of all

Day2:  Becoming the master's use  2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. Yesterday we started a series titled "The author and finisher of all", this implies that God is the source and end of all things, He plans and make things happen at His own will, His actions and decree are unquestionable. We understand God as the potter, He makes us to whatever He want.  Today we will be looking at "Becoming the master's use", as a clay in the potter's hand, God mold us into different vessels of His choice,  He makes one vessel for special purposes and another for common purposes, simply out of his sovereign choice—based on no merit of the person.  But in 2Timothy 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. , the opportun

The author and finisher of all

Day1: Clay in the hand of the Potter  Isaiah 64:8 But now, O Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand. This is the begining of a series "The author and finisher of all", God supreme commands every happening, He make things to be and makes them not to be, He commands the begining and the end at His will, no one can question His authority  For the Lord is the great God, And the great King above all gods The sea is His, for He made it; And His hands formed the dry land.(Psalm 95:4,5) With his mighty power He has mold us to His will, He is the porter while we are His clay, he had first made us in His full glory and grace, fashioned in His likeness of righteousness and holiness, but the devil came and marred the image of God in us, then we became a faulty piece before God the potter.  Jeremiah  18:1 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,  18:2 Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will

Consequences of Deceptiveness

Psalms 101:7 He who works deceit shall not dwell within my house; He who tells lies shall not continue in my presence. Deceptiveness is the quality of making someone  believe something that is not true the practice of deceiving or being deceptive. Being deceptive doesn't just involve lying. It can consist of misrepresenting or omitting the truth or more complicated cover-ups. Anything that involves intentionally misleading someone Deception is one of the works of the devil that has gained ground in the heart of many by which they use everyday against fellow men.  This is one way a great sin before God in which it stands against the truth and His  righteousness Deception  comes in different ways, it can be  to wrongly make profit, trying to acquire what you do not deserve,  to take revenge or perpetrate evil intentions, dissemination of false information as truth in other to receive people's trust etc. There is no sin that does not have its consequences, as much as God's
