Result of waiting patiently

Psalms  40:1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

If we are going to be honest with ourselves, we all hate to wait. In fact, more often than not, we say something like, " I can't believe this is taking so long; it's costing me time I don't have!".

That's because most of us consider waiting time to be wasting time. But it's not so with our God. Anytime you wait on God, He works, even when you can't see what He is doing.

God is always coordinating the events of the heavens and the earth to accomplish His purpose for the life of His children.

King David expressed his joyful heart in God's intervention after waiting patiently on God. He affirms that it is best to wait on God for deliverance or breakthrough than to rush into options not profiting.

Joseph would have opted for Portipha's wife idea of being a means by which his star will shine. But according to God's will for him, it was never the direction He wanted to follow. God has a good purpose for him, but he has to endure some troubling moments before He can come out great.

His waiting paid off after being made the prime minster of a foreign land, not only did he receive favour from the king but became more honourable than His former master, Portipha.

Haanah lived everyday of her life in sorrow of being barren, her rival would add salt to her injury with provocative words and actions in the home. But she never gave up on God.

Eventually, she became the mother of the priest in Israel, better than the one who has seven children, she sang a song of praise to God  in appreciation.

Waiting on God for result brings everlasting peace rather than rushing ahead and having sorrow attached to it.

The disciples also waited for the promise of the father according to the instruction of Christ before launching into the ministry. Their waiting brought power, grace and confidence for the ministerial journey ahead of them. Any minister who fails to wait on God for proper grooming will crash on the mission field.

Waiting on God may take much time than we expect, it may keep us more than we are willing to wait, but the joy it brings is more than we can ever expect.

Isaiah  40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Those who would wait for God to work in their lives will not be disappointed. They will be able to accomplish things beyond their dreams for God is able to work in the lives of those who walk by faith.

God's time always bring lasting  peace, joy and gladness, it may be humanly time consuming, but it is the best.

God bless you.
