Be a productive citizen
Titus 3:1 REMIND PEOPLE to be submissive to [their] magistrates and authorities, to be obedient, to be prepared and willing to do any upright and honorable work,
Being a believer in Christ Jesus truly restructure our life from the world of sin to a new life of hope and eternity with God. We are in this world, but we are not of this world, we have been bought with a price.
Nevertheless, as much as we live our life daily in this world as Christ representatives, it does not stop us from being a productive and patriotic citizen to ourselves, family and the nation we live in.
Romans 12:11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
The disciples of Jesus must be known for being diligent workers. When one has a zealous spirit within, he will manifest active service for the lord. But we must not limit this character of spirit to those things we would call service to the Lord. It must be extended to the World around us. We just be diligent on the works we do, in our offices, business, affairs of government among others
Christ must be characterised by a working spirit. Inactive Christians have not discovered the responsibility of the child of God to be a productive citizen of society.
It is the holy spirit's purpose in these direct words of Paul to remind all who would call themselves after Christ that they have a responsibility to maintain an active life insofar as they are physically capable..
There shouldn't be anyone called a lazy Christian, the christ in us does not relinquish the purpose of living, it should reflect the character of God through us to our places of work, business and the world around us.
Titus 3:8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
Here, apostle paul instruct Christians never to be arrogant to the authority but rather be a set example in the society of being obedient to civil government.
The purpose of Christ in us should be able to bring sanity into our society and the world we live in, you become a productive and patriotic citizen by being involved in the positive developmental processes required of a citizen. We are not called to be idle or to live in isolation because we want to make heaven.
God will not do anything man can do, whatever is expected of a citizen, Christians should be at the forefront with the mind of God at heart which gives upper hand for a positive result.
If you fail to do what is expected of you as a good citizen, and even being a child of God, your prayers for God's help when the nation is sinking may not be answered.
You have your responsibility, do it.
