Be sure of whom you serve
1 Samuel 17:42 And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance.
The story in the verse above is an interesting story that brought David to the limelight. The Philistines had gathered against the Israelite in battle, a leader from both sides was fight each other to know the winner and the strongest between both.
King Saul had tried all he could, none of His commander could come out and confront Goliath, even the king is in dismay and perpetual fear and disgrace.
But a young unaged boy, an unqualified, inexperience and unnoticed came out to confront this giant with track record of potential wins in battle. Their comparison was like a bush rat challenging an elephant in battle.
But as little and unexperienced as he was, he trusted a person with supernatural power, great enough to defeat a giant and warrior from birth.
He was not moved by the face of the giant, neither was he moved by his words, yet he reaffirms that the God in whom he depends on will not disgrace him.
He was very sure of the God he served, his confidence in yaweh did not faint. He trusted God and he was not disappointed
The question today is, do you know the God you serve, do you actually recognised the God whom you claim you pray to, worship and care for?
If David had not known the God he serve, he would have been defeated and disgraced without a blow, but because he knew whom God was and trusted Him, he reflected the victory against the lion and a bear which almost kill a sheep. This was the testimony that endorsed the defeat against Goliath
If you fail to know the God you serve, when you call on Him, he won't answer because there is no relationship between you both.
If you fail to know the God you serve, you will be mercilessly defeated by your enemy.
Those who know their God do His will and obey His commands, they live according to the pattern He has laid down for them. He established an everlasting covenant with them.
The three Hebrews in the fire of Nebuchadnezzar trusted, believed and recognised the God they serve, they believed He's all powerful to save and deliver. Their faith in Him gave them victory
Only those who know their God will do exploit in the land of the living. Daniel 11:32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
Be sure of whom you serve, God never disappoint His own, check your relationship with God, it may be broken and that may be the reason your life is being defeated by the devil.
Be sure of whom you serve.
God bless you.
