A man after God's heart

1 Samuel  13:13 And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.  13:14 But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.

The first desire of God in the creation of  man is to have a special being who would be obedient to His words and commands, who will govern over all other creations He has made.

This He does while creating Adam and Eve, He gave them dominion over all that has been crated before, and also with clear instructions of what to do and not to do.

Man fell off from the grace of God into sin, and ever since God has been looking for men who will be obedient to Him

In the life of the Israelites, they desire a king, but as much as it was not God's desire for them, yet, He gave them Saul. King Saul later disappointed God by being disobedient to instructions given. When Saul left God, God left him. Because he forsook the will of God, he was subsequently rejected as king over Israel

Nevertheless, God found David, who is after His own heart, who is willing to risk all for God, who will uphold the standard of God among the people no matter how difficult it may be.

The key to becoming a man after God's heart is to be totally obedient to God's instructions, commands, will and word.
Acts  13:22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.

Partial obedience to God cannot qualify you to becoming a man after His heart, a life of hypocrisy, secret sins, pride of life and lust of the world can never make you a man after God's heart.

As God found David to be a man after His own heart, can God find you today, many leaders have failed God in this world, but God is looking for a replacement, will you be found of  God and become  worthy of Him?

Check your life today and make amends where necessary through repentance.

God bless you.
