Total obedience to God's Command
2 John 1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
God is holy and just in His ways, whoever that will serve Him must do nothing less than complete and total obedience to His commands and words.
obedience to God means to hear, trust, submit and surrender to God and His words. But sadly today most of our response to His command is partial obedience, this is because of our little faith, trust and lack of Understanding of His power and grace.
God has no pleasure in partial obedience, He desire full and total response in obedience to His commands and words.
If anyone would want the best of God, such person must be ready to obey God fully without complain or grudge.
After the Exodus of the children of Israel from the land of slavery in Egypt, God revealed His laws and commandment and besought them to obey fully as this will guarantee their full blessing.
Deuteronomy 11:26 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; 11:27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day: 11:28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.
Total obedience to God is an act of love towards Him. John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments, we can't claim to love God if we find it difficult to obey His commandment or do not obey fully. Our love for Him is the foundation of our faith, love and total dependant on Him.
There is much danger if we refuse to obey the instructions of God or fail to obey it fully as He has commanded.
Moses regretted not fully obeying the instructions of God when he was denied of reaching the promise land.
Numbers 20:10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? 20:11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also. 20:12 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.
God told Him to speak to the rock instead he smote the rock with his rod not once but twice. This very act made God angry, this stopped Him from getting to the Promised Land despite his plea.
His righteousness and faithfulness in the past did not saved him before the Lord.
In same manner God told King Saul through prophet Samuel to destroy every living thing in Amalek, both man and animals as a reward for what they did to the children of israel on their way to the promise land.
King Saul obeyed but not fully. He destroyed the land but not totally, he kept their king alive and brought livestock of the land to be made as sacrifice unto God. But prophet Samuel said in 1 Samuel 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
He got rejected by God and his seized to be king for God.
Total obedience is the key to pleasing God
What has God committed in your hands to do, but you are refusing to do it, or you did but not fully?
What command has the Lord given you but you find it difficult to fully obey?
Of a truth, the commands of God may seems very difficult and strange to follow or obey, but the latter end is alway a blessing.
Not obeying God's command, or not obeying fully always makes one His enemy.
Change your ways and make everything right with God.
If you skip His instructions, you can't escape His punishment.
God bless you.
