Cease from being Stubborn

Proverbs 29:1 He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, Will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

Stubbornness is a dogged determination not to change one's attitude or position on something, being stubborn to the commands, instructions, words and salvation in Christ is a sin unto God.

God is always happy with those who yield to His commands, but he detest those who hardened their heart in stubbornness.

The life pharaoh is an example of a stubborn heart, despite God's warnings and wonders shown, so as to let the children of Israel go which includes,  water turning to blood, frogs, lice, flies, livestock pestilence, boils, hail, locusts, darkness and the killing of firstborn children. yet he continued to be stubborn against God, till he came with his final destruction at the red sea.

Such also is a life God  has been giving warnings to desist from evil deeds, or to accept His will for his life. God has sent His messengers and messages through several means, in tracts, social media, radio and television publications etc, yet many are still stubborn in hardness of the heart. The anger of the Lord is on them.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
Apostle Paul forewarned Timothy of many who will rise in time to come, those who will not be willing to accept the truth of the words of God through  the stubbornness of their heart, but rather raise teachers, apostles and prophets for themselves who will teach and lead them according to the desires of their heart which are in conformity to patterns of this world.

Many of these people are all around today manipulating the scriptures to suit the desires of their heart. They will not accept corrections as they will claim they hold the truth.

Proverbs 28:14 Happy is the man who is always reverent, But he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity.
Those who harden themselves against God's will always have sad consequences at the end of their life, fearing the Lord, however, is a guard against falling into sin and destruction.

2 Chronicles 7:14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Humbleness of the heart in obedience to God's instructions is a sure way to receiving from God and escaping from His wrath reserved for the stubborn heart.

Romans 2:5-9 But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,
[6]who “will render to each one according to his deeds”:
[7]eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality;
[8]but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath,
[9]tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek;

The righteousness of God and his judgment has been specifically stated in the above verses for anyone who continues to act stubborn towards His will, commands and righteousness in this world.

Though God is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy, but His anger is always reserved for the stubborn heart who refuses to yield to Him till the appointed time

What has God told you to do and you are yet to do it?

What steps has the Lord told you to take and you are still reluctant?

What sin have you deliberately continue to commit, and God has send messages of repentance to you, yet you hardened your heart?

The anger of God is at the door, it is by His mercy that this word is coming to you today. Repent and cease from being stubborn so as not to experience the wrath of God.

God bless you.
